I don't see him making this team much better. Pass unless you can get him for an absolute steal.

Columbus wants to gut their defense

Quote:
Hejda will likely exit via free agency. Rostislav Klesla, the longest-tenured Jacket, could very well be traded, either at the deadline or over the summer. It's hard to fathom the Blue Jackets extending a qualifying offer to Anton Stralman and going through arbitration with him again this summer given his struggles this season. If Howson can't find a taker for Mike Commodore's contract, he could be bought out.

At this point nobody's safe, but Fedor Tyutin and Kris Russell appear the most likely to return unless a decent offer is made.

The Blue Jackets must decide if prospects like John Moore, David Savard, Nick Holden and others are ready for the NHL, and if Grant Clitsome is for real.
http://www.dispatch.com/live/content...o.html?sid=101

What is a decent offer for Tyutin?

If Drury was willing to waive his NMC this summer,Columbus is loaded with overpriced AHL fodder-Klesla,Commodore.

Can Sather acquire Clitsome? What is his nickname?

If they don't keep Gilroy, I'd try and pick up Stralman on the cheap and see if they can't get something out of him. I don't think he's as bad as CBJ thinks he is. I just think that team isn't all that good and he was playing in a role he wasn't suited for.

Unless they want gilroy as a offensive blue liner/pp shooter I don't see us making good trade partners.

Tyutin doesn't solve our PP problems. Rather get babchuk on the cheap.

If Gilroy could really play offense, the Rangers wouldn't have this problem.

He really would add good depth, give Torts the ability to split up Staal and Girardi

Staal - Eminger
Toots - Girardi
McD - Sauer

Uninformed, incorrect and lazy.

If you're going to make a blanket statement at last get the fact correct. Zherdev is gone. Why do Zherdev haters continue to obsess and bash the guy. He produced here. Period.

I would do the trade over again, only if we resigned Zherdev.

The trade was justified in the sense that we recieved the best, most skilled player, and for us, that was a chance we had to take.

I have no ill regards for the trade beyond letting Z go
Finally, somebody that "gets" it. HE would have helped our powerless play. But the Baffoon from Banf-f-f is a vindicative old coot and his coach is a caveman. But there's light at the end of the tunnel. They won't be here forever, but with our luck they may outlive us all.

This season is lining up for another middle of the pack finish just outside of the sweet 16.

Some of your guys love affair with Zherdev is ridiculous...talking about a "Paul Mara" type of infatuation. He was good, not great by any strech, and does not deserve the immense praise you lavish upon him.

As others have mentioned, I'm not sure how re-acquiring Tyutin will help this team. The Rangers are in desperate need of some defensemen who can provide some offense. While he has improved offensively since he was on the Rangers, Tyutin is not the answer. He was dreadful at keeping the puck in on the PP.

Lol BabchuK? What will he do? In four full seasons his career high in points is 35, other than that the second highest is a mere 14. His average is close to 18. To put 18 points into perspective, Girardi already has 23 and Staal already has 19. Babchuk is the last guy who's going to solve our PP problems.

Toots again? He'd be fine if we were in need of another defensive d-man.

But we're not.

We need a guy that can pass the puck, run a PP. Toots doesn't help us there.

Pass.

I really liked Toots as a Ranger, I just don't know if he helps the Rangers enough now.

At 6-5 and playing with an edge he's a big guy who likes to hit. He's also a right handed stick that loves to shoot the puck. At 6-5 he's got a cannon of a shot. At a 308K trade deadline cap hit he's an upgrade to shooter point that we don't have while still allowing for cap flexibility to acquire a guy who can help distribute the puck. We need both.

It seems to get a rise out of you. Seeing as you are compelled to write the same comment to every post. Maybe you should have your funny bone checked out.

I'll fully admit that I was a Tyutin fan, and I was disappointed when he was traded..

However, there's not one current blueliner we have that I would rather not be there in favor of Tyutin. Including Del Zotto and his current season.

Staal/Sauer
Tyutin/Girardi
McDonagh/Eminger

That'd be a pretty mean six d-men. Depending who the Rangers give up, they could keep Gilroy for a 7th dman.
