Who did he play with this season? I thought he didn't play in any league and was just recovering.

Wait, I thought he didn't need to pass through waivers since he didn't play this season at all?

I think someone claims him for that price and I really rather hope that someone is my Avalanche!

Cheap option and I think it'd be great for both parties, regardless of who finally gets him.

So they are waiving him to play in the NHL? I am happy for him it looked like his career was over a couple times but he worked really hard to get another shot.

My money is on Detroit, Chicago, Washington or Tampa Bay picking him up off waivers.

If Garth Snow claims him, I will delete my HFBOARDS account.

Has to pass through waivers to be sent to the AHL (unless it's a conditioning assignment) because of the number of years he's been in the league (just like if you tried to send down a regular 27 year old down).

Since he'll need to prove himself at the AHL level to prove his durability and skillset, he needs to go through the waiver wire to be sent down to that level.

It's weird to see him go to Anaheim considering he played them in the Finals in 2007, but it's a very good fit and I hope Emery succeeds there. I always liked him.

Ah okay. And I just read a team that claims him would have to keep him in the NHL rather than send him down.

I say he makes it through.

He will pass through no problem. Teams know he needs at least a month to get NHL ready and having to keep him on the NHL roster if they claim him will be enough of a deterrent. I doubt he gets called up before the playoffs though because someone would take him on re-entry waivers.

How long does he stay on waivers for? Or until we know if he's cleared/claimed

Glad to see him getting back to hockey after that crazy injury. I guess he will start in the AHL, since he is on waivers

I dont think anybody claims him going down.

After the 3-4 weeks, when/if hes recalled.. Does he have to go thru waivers to be recalled? Im assuming he does, since he had to going down.

thats when you could see somebody claiming him.

Re-entry waivers don't apply here. I don't know. Thought that's what Bobby Mac tweeted

tommorow at noon.

I expect he'll clear. When the player himself says that he wont be NHL ready for a month, why would a team bother?

Re-entry later in the year is a different question, but really only a possibility if a non-playoff team has goalie injuries at the time he is called up.

If he's going on waivers so he can play in the AHL, won't he have to pass through re-entry waivers to get back in the NHL? He may make it through going down, but I can't see him getting back up at half price...

Thanks.

I expect him to clear as well, but there is a small small possibility someone might claim him
