Boucher said in his post game presser that he won't play tomorrow, needs the time to heal up. And it's a "mid-body" injury. WTF that means I don't know. Groin pull maybe?

Wing Ryan Malone is out with what coach Guy Boucher called a mid-body injury, though he added it wasn't his groin. He said while Malone, who was hurt Friday against the Panthers, finished that game, he did not look good. And Malone, Boucher said, now is having trouble lifting his legs
Malone declined to give any specifics about the injury other than to say it was something he had for a while, though on a low level and was aggravated during the game at Florida, or as he said it, "Just a kind of tweakage." He said he is confident he will be ready for Feb. 1 game against the Flyers.

"I don't use the word concussion because his head was spinning a little bit yesterday, but after that he was fine," Boucher said. "But (Monday) you don't want to take a chance, and honestly we don't want to take a chance (Tuesday) right now. Whether it lasts five, six, seven days we'll see. (Sunday) night it wasn't considered a concussion but it was something to watch out for, so (Monday) we're watching out and tomorrow we'll see. But right now ... it's a good moment to give him a break."
I'd rather replace grit and defensive responsibility with grit and defensive responsibility, as well as the ability to take faceoffs and play a physical game. This is just my opinion of course, but as the race gets tighter and the number of games left gets lower, there are going to be more playoff style hockey games and I think players such as Durno and Jones would be better suited as replacements for Thompson. If a player like Purcell or Tyrell went down, I'd be more inclined to say Harju. With that said, I wouldn't be surprised if Harju gets called up, and I can't say I would blame Yzerman for doing so.
