Player of the game: I really don't know. Honestly.
Good: I almost fell asleep, so I have no clue. Gilroy and Dubinsky?
Bad: This team just blindly peppering 47 shots from all angles, with zero chance of going in. That we still suck at crashing the net and screening the goalie. Boyle. Girardi. MDZ. Gaborik. Callahan. Too many to mention that were bad.
The Redden: Our horrendeusly, laughably pathetic PP, that is only an advantage by words. The consistently unconsistent joke called Assenhoven, that I don't think has ever called an even game.
Biron did not play that great tonight. He should have had the 3rd one, AND the second one he made a stupid play. He should have just slid across instead of sliding.
I was just about to post almost the exact same thing. If he had slid from post to post on the second goal instead of flopping on the ice like a fish he would have stopped it. The third goal was just bad. I know it was a bad giveaway, but it was a weak shot to the glove side that somehow got through him. Terrible goal to give up. If Henrik had given up those goals everyone would have flocked to this thread yelling about how he cost the rangers this game with his "softies." I also thought that Biron only made about 3 really quality saves.
PoTG : I honestly dont know...
The Good : Not much..
The Bad : Pretty much everything
The Redden : Gaborik
Whatever qualifies as worse than The Redden : Our powerplay.
Torts has to take accountability for the recent failures of this team.
If this team falls out of a playoff spot by the trade deadline you have to let him go. This is back to back years where the Rangers may not make the playoffs.
We let go of Renney when we were in a playoff spot. No reason to give Tortorella the benefit of the doubt year after year.

Your probably right but I didn't take too many positives out of this game. Had to pick something.
This is about the least effective Boyle has been all year. At the end of the night, this was a Detroit team ripe for the picking and we decided not to take advantage of them. That 5 on 3 is absolutely the most dreadful PP I have ever seen.
I propose we change "the Redden" to "the powerplay". The powerplay is worse at this point. Redden never single-handedly cost us 5 in a row. I think he stopped at 3 in a row.
The good: The work ethic, 47 shots on goal in Detroit, and basically outplayed the Red Wings on national TV.
The bad: Blame Gaborik all you want, but the inability to win the faceoff at the start of the 5 on 3 is what did it.
The Redden: This team is snakebit. They are not bad. One breakdown or unlucky bounce, the opponent scores. I mean WTF, Hudler carrying his stick a foot off the ice blocks Sauer's clearing attempt, leading to a goal, and then a puck takes a funny carom off Wolski's skate to Abdelkader, leading to another ridiculous goal. It's just gotten stupid.
The Redden junior: The reaction by so-called fans who want to blame the team for horrendous luck and really, really bad breaks.
I fail to see how Avery is the Player of the Game. He made one decent pass and took 2 high sticks to face and otherwise sucked the rest of the game.
And it wasn't even a smart pass, he's lucky Dubi sniped it. He's cutting into the slot with a good chance to shoot and instead dishes it off to Dubi who is at an awful angle. Not a smart play at all.
I think he lost the team a few games ago and the fact he gives them fun practices trying to keep this team upbeat is a joke. This stretch is unacceptable, the PP is unacceptable, this team does not deserve playoffs unless they can really change things, but it isn't looking good at all.
Because of two blunders? Yeah, nevermind he set up a wide-open Gilroy.
Wolski is the least of this teams problems, and sadly Gaborik is higher up on that list than he is.
He is far from the biggest problem, but he is showing me why a guy who seems to have a good skillset, size, and youth keeps getting moved.
I thought Gaborik was the worst signing here since the Garden signed Sather and I admit to taking some satisfaction that at a site where I was ridiculed for my belief that Gaborik was an awful signing, a lot of folks have come over to a similar belief.

It's not horrendous luck and bad breaks anymore. They're missing wide open nets and our superstar isn't playing like one at all.

Wow, exact opposite opinion of me. Biron is blamed for a textbook passing play by Detroit on the second goal? Please.
The third goal was a solid initial first save, maybe a so-so rebound but there was no defense man *cough* Del Zotto *cough* in front of the net to clear the puck. Detroit had free access to cash in a rebound in front of the crease.
Join Tortorella in blaming the goaltenders when this team clearly has more significant problems.
I'm sick and tired of this team, same shut different night coming up short and gaborik doing absolutely nothing. Gaborik needs to get his ****ing head out of his ass put Jim in the ****ing press box with drury. This powerplay is abysmal and I honestly don't know who's directing the pp but they need to be fired or beheaded or whatever because this pp has no direction at all it's honestly embarrassing at this point, if I was torts I would be genuinely embarrassed that my team can't scrounge up a powerplay goal aside from a 1 in a million skate deflection goal by prospal I can't remember the last time the scoreboard said PPG
