Ridiculous overpayment by the Devils. Make it a 4th and it's perfect!

You'd probably have to replace Brennan with Stafford for the Devils to even consider it.

Lol.

Try Tyler Ennis, Zach Kassian, 1st round pick 2012 +

I personally wouldn't even consider dealing Parise to Buffalo unless Myers and Enroth were coming back.

Which the Sabres wouldn't consider, so it's just a moo point, ain't it?

Well the Devils wouldn't consider dealing Parise so this entire thread is a "moo" point.

If Regier proposes this, it's because he knows he's getting fired and just wants to piss off Lou before he leaves. No chance.

I don't disagree, FWIW. I would guess the proposal was made since ZP is going to be a RFA on a team that has some upcoming Cap issues.

We don't have cap issues next season.

Besides, if we did, Parise > cap issues. We will sign Parise first and worry about the salary cap later. If that means sending NHL regulars to the AHL so keep Parise, so be it. It's a team game, but Parise is easily the most important player on the team.

Hypothetically, if the Penguins only have 8 million in cap space when Crosby becomes a UFA and he's asking for 9 mil, would they trade him? Or would they find cheaper role players? Parise to the Devils is Crosby to the Penguins.

I find the bolded statement hard to believe at all.
Aren't you forgetting someone "MORE IMPORTANT" than any other player on the Devils?
Kovalchuk

I kid, I kid. I shouldn't even joke about such a sore subject with a Devils fan

It's not even a sore subject. It's a sore subject to fans of the 29 other teams. Most of us are happy we have Kovy and understand that there were a lot of easily fixable factors that contributed to his lack of personal success early on.

I just don't get why so many people get on him. Most people blame the money, but he has the 25th highest cap hit and 51st highest salary this season. It just blows my mind how ******** people get over the round number that is 100 mil.

Hey Devils fans, come to a consensus and then get back to us.

I think the consensus from Devils fans is "HELL NO." Does that work?

The consensus is we're tired of hearing about how Parise is on his way out because he doesn't like it in New Jersey, and/or the Devils have to trade him because they have cap issues.

The only reason why the Devils would acquire Stafford is so that the Parise-Zajac-Stafford line could be reunited (from college).

There is no one on the Sabres, short of Myers, that I'd want in return f or Parise

It's moot point I'm hoping this was just a typo as so many people write "mute point". Not normally one to correct other people's mistakes but this one definitely needed picking up on

And Devilsfanatic - loving the Barry from Eastenders photo!! He's actually from a town about 3 miles away from my home village. Yes, I know I'm lucky.

As for the trade proposal, it's just another HF Boards doozy...

Consensus!

What a joke. Each and every Devils fan knows this is a terrible proposal. The consensus answer is "hell no".
