Gaborik, Del Zotto

for

Byfuglien, Ladd, Peverly

forget about the unlikelyness, is this fair value?

No thanks.

Don't need Byfuglien, basically a forward playing defense. I would LOVE to get Ladd, though, but that's unrealistic.

Thrashers get screwed on that trade proposal

Substitute Del Zotto for Staal and its more fair

Ok, so lets say Staal for Buff straight up.

Peverley and Ladd for Gaborik??? No way.

Buff>Staal

And also Ladd is currently having a better season than Gaborik

Ok, so Ladd is having a career year and Gaborik is having a down year, makes perfect HF logical sense. Has Ladd scored 40 goals before, didn't think so. And Peverley is essentially Eric Christensen, waiver fodder. 6 less points in 13 less games for Gaborik. PPG, Gaborik has a higher one (34 in 42 and opposed to 40 in 55). Also, Ladd gets more minutes then Gaborik does. Is Ladd really having a better season?

Buff might be better offensively then Staal, but no way is he better on defense. Staal faces much harder divisional competition (Crosby, Malkin, J Staal, Richards, Carter, Giroux, Kovalchuk, Parise) as compared to Buff (Ovechkin, E Staal, Stamkos, St. Louis, Semin, Backstrom) and playing more minutes (2 more minutes per game on average) and Buff 0 +/- looks small next to Staal's +10. Lets not mention Staal has been doing this for a couple years now while Buff was playing forward.

You are severely over-valuing Ladd and Buff basing it on 1 year of accomplishments. If Ladd had scored 30 or put up 70 points before and Buff had a more body of work on D then this could happen, but it still would most likely not.

Ladd's a different type of player to Gaborik. He's got a great 2-way game, great leadership, two cup rings and now he's getting more ice time in Atlanta is scoring more. Gaborik's a better scorer no doubt, and yes probably a better player but there isn't as much in it as you'd think.

Buff and Stall are almost complete opposites, one a great shut down guy and one a great offensive player. Personally i'd rather have Buff, a d-man who can score 20+ goals is incredibly valuable, and there is always the option of switching him to forward.

Don't see much difference between the two to be honest.

Anyway:

Gaborik, Del Zotto

for

Byfuglien, Ladd, Peverly

is a no go for Atlanta.

I'd take Staal over Buff.

That said, the proposal is a definite no from Atlanta.
