I can't believe this thread is still going. It could have stopped when someone wrote Seguin or Tor 1st +++. They were dead on accurate and it wouldn't really be worth it for either team.

Either way I must say thank you to most of the Ottawa fans for being classy about this and to the majority of my Bruins brethren for actually being realistic.

I mean after all. The Sens and the B's have so much in common after all, our mutual hate for the Laffs and the Scabs runs deep.

PS. What would teams need to part with to get Michalek? Just curious.

Ottawa does this no problem. As much as I love Karlsson he's not worth this much.

Well he kinda looks like a 25-30 goal guy again with the way he's skating now, took him a while after surgery. Would probably take something significant like Colborne and 2nd, with the center depth in Boston I'd probably just say Colborne included or bust.

I'd second what has been discussed here.

1) I would doubt that a trade could be worked out for Erik Karlsson to go to Boston. It's really not worth the discussion.

2) I would be interested in Chiarelli trying to work out a deal for Milan Michalek to join the B's. I've always considered Michalek a strong player. With the right linemates I think he could put up a lot of points.

Says the guy who proposed a trade on the Leafs Board of:

Tor 1st, Colborne, Marchand and Boychuk

for

Kaberle and Komiserak

I have a deal that would work for both teams:

Massive overpayment from Boston

for

Karlsson

But seriously, no way Ottawa lets their young stud leave without some MASSIVE overpayment. Its like someone asking to trade for Seguin...we have no reason to trade him, hes not asking for a trade, his potential is through the roof, therefore wed need a huge huge overpayment.

I would make a Colborne + 2nd deal for Michalek. His injury concerns (overblown as they are) scare me though.

Just thought I'd ask. Thanks for the response.

I don't think that's enough, if the Sens would deal us Karlsson it would start with Toronto's 1st IMO

Re: Michalek, I think the Sens would be stupid to trade him now. He's finally over his surgery, he's flying out there, is great in all 3 zones, and looks to be good for 25-30 goals for several years, and is still young. In my eyes, he's part of the core.

Re: Any Karlsson trade is completely unrealistic, given that even as great as he is now (3rd or 4th in D scoring in his second year on a horrid team IIRC), there is no limit as to his ceiling. If we traded him now, we'd likely look really, really stupid in a few years. I call him Lidstrom, Jr. I really think he could have that kind of career, especially if we surround him with a good team.

but like ive said itd take an overpayment to get EK and itd be one that the bruins say no to.
That's fair. Any trade to get Karlsson, from the B's or anyone else, would require so much overpayment it would destroy the future of the team trading for him.

Re: the Kessel trade, I'm with you. No matter what Burke says, its obvious that if he'd known that both first rounders he traded away were going to be lottery picks, he'd never have made that deal. He'd be fired so fast he'd evaporate if he did.

LOL I think that there is something missing going to the B's in that one... Costco-sized buckets of anal lube.

He's a good puck moving defensman yes, but every game I have watched him against the Leafs he's been brutal defensivly in. Really not a Boston type of player, doubt they would have any use for him at all.

Plus he is one of about 5 good assets the Senators actually have, they would be dumb to trade him

Since its being proposed by a Leafs fan its a pretty fair guess that it's an attempt to be sarcastic, but on the other hand it might be Brian Burke as it bears some similarity to his Kessel deal.
