Per @TSNBobMcKenzie

I think he clears

They should trade him for Voros.

Tampa could use a fighter.

He'll probably clear (unless he's better than I think he is).

Tissue paper forward but young. Has meniere's disease as well so flying is sometimes painful for him.

No Worries

Ritola won't have to worry about his medical condition being an issue on the AHL. They don't fly most of the time. Now if it's affected by bus rides there will be a problem.

There was an article on Ritola the other day in a Swedish paper, he said something about a lot noises in the locker room made him stressful and that triggered his disease. They were going to try some sort of hearing aid now.

I had no idea Ritola's ear problems were this bad back when he was in Detroit. That's terrible.. would suck to see such a young hard working guy like him to have to hang them up because of something like this. I wish him the best for the future.
No way he gets claimed by anybody though.

I was thinking St. Louis could claim him, but what is his condition?

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Mattias Ritola knows he will be able to play tonight against the Bruins because, as of the morning skate, he had not heard the ringing in his ears or felt dizzy. Ritola has something called Meniere's Disease that, basically, is caused by a build-up of fluids in the inner ear, which controls a person's balance.

I don't think he had any big problems in Detroit, either. He cracked his right ear drum(he's deaf on his left ear since he was a child) diving in a pool this past summer, and then started to getting the symptoms later in the fall.. I beilieve he was diagnosed only a couple of months ago. He was always deaf on one ear, but obviously that's nothing compared to this.
