Like I said in the other thread...the Thrashers have had scouts at three straight Oilers games. That seems like overkill for the worst team in the league. Maybe they don't end up agreeing on a deal but I think both sides are definitely planning on talking.

If Atlanta values Bogosian as much as they should, I think it would end up being Hemsky + Petry or Hemsky + Cogliano or Hemsky + 2nd rounder.

I'd by so stoked if Edmonton landed Bogosian and drafted Larsson.

They could probably watch tape of those three games and get a more effective readout of the team. Scouting for multiple games with multiple scouts means thay managment wants a report on specific players, so its unlikely that this is the reason. Not saying a deal gets done, but its obvious that the teams have been talking already.

I don't know if we should move Penner/Hemsky for Bogo. They both are solid vets for our young guns and can be a key pieces in our rebuild if Tambo thinks he can resign them. I don't really like Bogo's progression, or lack thereof. He had a good first season as an 18 year old but last year he was downright bad, ask any thrashers fan, and this year he has failed to regain his form from his rookie year. I know he is just 20 but those are red flags. If tambo believes he can become a #1 d-man in this league then i trust him but i'd be very cautiously optimistic

Drew Doughty had a good first season and this year he's been pretty bad. There is a common theme here. Sophomore slump.

Except Doughty was nominated for the Norris in his sophomore season

Smid and Brule aren't good enough pieces to get those three players, and while Hemsky is a nice player, there have to be some injury concerns with him.

The Atlanta three are pretty much cornerstones to their future team.
