IMO a fair deal:

To Boston:
Tomas Kaberle

To Toronto:
Boston 1st Round Pick (turns to TOR 1st Round Pick if Boston reaches cup finals)

Well luckily you aren't the GM of the Boston Bruins.

What about if they reach the conference finals and he also resigns with the team?

Couldn't be done. It'd have to be a future Boston pick after this year's trade deadline.

I bet that Boston and Toronto fans can both agree on one thing, another trade between these 2 teams is probably unlikely, at least at this point in time.

And they would be right about leafs fans. A list of over hyped leafs prospects of the same age or older.

Mueller age 22
Irwin age 23 (24 in a month)
Hanson age 24 (25 in a month)
Caputi age 22

these are overhyped prospects. Buddy didn't overvalue Hamil he said he could be an added piece to complete the deal.

BTW if you wanted to go off of hf rankings which aren't always the best but for the sake of argument. Hamill currently has the same ranking as McKegg, Blacker, Aulie, D'Amigo and Ross who are all crazy hyped TO prospects. TO lacks center depth and that's why he put him in. The leafs would not also get Caron or Colborne in a deal plain and simple.

In this case it would be in Toronto's benefit to see Boston do well. To the point of purposely losing to them so that they could place higher and get a better seed in the playoff to get to the finals easily. Losing also helps the pick get better.

I wonder if the league would allow that trade. Better yet would / should the league allow Kabs for the Toronto pick? Toronto would have an incentive to lose.

Toronto doesn't seem to have a problem losing without incentive so I doubt the league would be concerned or even notice. BTW the B's wouldn't bite on that trade anyway.
