Tampa signed March Andre Bergon. He isn't good defensively but he might be able to improve the PP. He has to clear waivers and I would be interested in having him on the team to help with the PP. Plus he's signed for 1m and is on a two way deal. Seems like low risk, high reward.

Isles trade Roloson to Tampa.

48hrs later.... Dipietro leaves game with lower body injury.

Looks like the Islanders are doing EVERYTHING they can to get a top pick.

Just an FYI for you Jovanovski fans out there. The Coyotes are honoring Jovanovski's 1000th NHL game prior to tonight's Coyotes/Sabres game. Should be on NHL Center ice. Puck drops at 8:00 PM EST.

Nathan Horton, demoted to the third line today, left practice early because of discomfort, according to Claude Julien. The coach didn't specify what was ailing Horton. The right wing is traveling to Montreal and is considered day-to-day.

Seems a lot of fans also are saying he doesn't seem that interested in competing every night. So it wasn't the Panthers why he floated around here too.

Semin signed a one year extension for 6.7 million. Not that I thought we were going to sign him but there is pretty much nobody on the free agent market this summer we can even dream about signing except for Richards.

Mike Smith was waived today. He's a UFA after this season and I think would be a good enough replacement if we (once we?) move Vokoun. He and Clemmer aren't good moving forward, but we wouldn't need to make a trade for one. Iow, would make make for a better piece coming back.

Edit: He'd have to pass by the Islanders first.

He's struggled quite a bit so not sure if he's even worth claiming. He's still owed almost $800k for the rest of the season. I'd just wait to see if Philly put Leighton on re-entry waivers and claimed him at the same price...plus having someone for Clemmer to split starts with next season while Markstrom develops in the AHL.

AH, didn't think about Leighton, I'd rather have him, too. I'm not a huge Smitty fan, just figured he wasn't coming in for too much and would be a UFA. I still think Tallon is interested in Niemi coming here, even though he's struggled.

Looks like Ballard had a gruesome injury tonight. They're talking about it on the main boards.

At best that looks like the type of injury that will take over a year to fully recover from. Poor Keith.

Apparently it's just a sprained MCL. Not as bad as it looks like it could (should?) have been.

Amazing if true. I find it hard to believe his ACL/PCL survived that. He must have rubber bands in there.

Yeah, I thought the same. He said he's able to walk on it, though

Per the main board, Toronto traded Beauchemin to Anaheim for Lupul, Jake Gardiner, and a 2013 4th.

Boston general manager Peter Chiarelli made it clear that the Bruins will be active leading up to the February 28th NHL trade deadline and says that the first-round pick obtained from Toronto in the Phil Kessel trade is in play if the right deal came along.

"Yeah, I'd look at it, sure," Chiarelli told sports radio network, WEEI. "I've had discussions involving that pick. I certainly would look at it. We've got a lot of assets, so that alone allows us to be creative also ... there's been one [deal] that we've thrown around here internally, I don't know that I would do it but it's something that warrants further discussion."

That's a very fair trade in my opinion if Fisher can get back to his 45-55 point average per season in Nashville. Obviously with 24 points this season in Ottawa, a change of scenery was needed.

We'd probably get more for Weiss. I want Tallon to trade Weiss now.

Fisher has broken 50 points ONCE, and is on pace for 30 something. He makes 4.2M

Reasoner has almost as many points as Fisher, makes way less, and is much better defensively (fisher -19 vs reasoner +6)

So if Fisher is somehow worth that is Reasoner now worth a 1st? lol. Unlikely I know, I'm just pointing out how bad this trade is for Nashville.

Yeah, I can't believe Fischer brought back a first rounder. I really don't understand why Nashville gave up that much.
