Montreal - San Jose

I was just reading the trade center article on TSN. One of the posters in the list of comments said that:

A rumor of

Montreal

Weber
White
Carle
4th round pick

for

San Jose

Nichol
Eager
3rd round pick

Two others stated they heard the rumor as well, I just put it as a proposal as he didn't list any reliable sources. The poster also went on to say he said its hard to believe just in the fact that Montreal would need to pull another deal for a dman in order to make this work, as it would create a hole for our #6 spot.

I don't think it could work personally even if another dman comes in. My only question is:

Eller Desharnais Pouliot
Moen Halpern Darche

Ex. Pyatt, Eager Nichol

What are we doing with all that bottom 6 players? We would have 9 bottom 6 players.

Yeah... Not happening, we need a defenceman and a top 6 forward, not bottom 6 forwards.

It's a similar problem from a Shark's angle: They need a top 4 puck moving defenseman.

Definitely a non-starter.

I dont think thats a good fit for what MTL need. They would look at Clowe before Nichol for sure

Why would we do this? Our 3rd and 4th lines are full and Weber will be a pretty decent OffensiveD...

Uhm. no.

I am 100% confident this is complete crap.

1) we just traded for Eager
2) Nichol is a UFA after this season (and 35+)
3) We already have Braun and Demers, we don't need Weber

This makes no sense from any angle.

Oh great, we're pulling rumors from TSN's comments section now.

Doesn't really adress any needs for the Habs, don't see why Gauthier would do this

No, Vlasic isn't a PMD. And Demers is a sophomore, on pace for 27 points.

Again, not enough puck movers.

Demers will surprise the league in years to come.

I like Demers. But he isn't a legitimate puck mover right now, which is what the Sharks need.

Actually, they need a smooth skating two-way defenseman. Basically a positional puck mover.

Demers is exactly that.

The problem is they only have him and Boyle while the teams that are successful employ as many as 5 PMDs on their blueline.
