"It has not been a good day. I lost my glasses early this morning and I had to go buy a pair of 79 dollar reading glasses today. 79 bucks. You can literally get them at Costco, three-for-20." - Darryl Sutter's response to going up 2-0 in the series.
Usually like KingsVision's stuff but this was a lame ticket selling video. Players reading off a card.
Still want to see a real hard hitting interview from someone like MB or Helene. But I doubt it ever happens. I wish this were a bigger hockey market where the media gave a crap, instead we have five reporters covering what Kobe Bryant had for lunch and Kings coverage consists of copying and pasting the AP's game report.

Thank you. Came to say the same thing, but you said it perfect. What a bunch of crap propaganda. I usually love KV's stuff, but this put a bad taste in my mouth. If I went in thinking it was a commercial to get me to buy tickets, okay, but I didn't.

While I absolutely agree with the point about Kobe's hangnails getting more serious reporting than the Kings (this has been true for a looooong time, long before Kobe came around too), what do you guys expect from KingsVision? Hard hitting reporting? Wrong source dudes. The entirety of KingsVision only exists in the first place as a marketing tool.
Your overall sentiment is good, but directing it at this particular video is totally misplaced. There are two people you want to go after, Gann and the Mayor. They have access. Gann has gone against the team's company line before, but after getting in deep **** for the Johnson Michigan comments, not only is he not going to get more exclusive interviews with the Kings, but lately most of his articles are expansions on the same things Hammond talks about.
If you guys want more serious reporting on the Kings, you all need to clammer and raise hell for there to be more access allowed. I don't say this to toot my own horn or anything, but in all seriousness, if you want more critical reporting, you need to support sites like mine and Zad's, and Quisp's and KingsCast and such. Hammond isn't going to suddenly become that hard hitting reporter. Helene is only one woman. Of course with more success by the team on the ice, more reporting from major media will come out of the woodwork. But in the meantime, the only way you are going to get what you want is to support bloggers. You need to demand those of us writing about the Kings be allowed to talk directly with the players, coaching and management. I notice that many of you (not just or specifically the ppl I quoted here) who knock on the lack of reporting about the Kings are the same who like to turn your noses up at fan sites. Well you might as well cut off that upturned nose in that case, because your spiting your own desires.

For me, I think the title of the video threw me off. I thought it was a interview with Dean Lombardi on the expectations put on the Kings, not words fed into the player's mouths, spliced in with a few words from Dean. I think the videos that they've done previously do an even better job selling the game and the team, and not being so blatantly obviously. I know that KV's whole purpose is to market the team. Heck, I even like the commercials they usually have in support, but don't try to disguise a commercial as something else. I'd like to hear what the team really wants to say about expectations put onto the team, not a bunch of crap being spoon fed to them.
Its a shame you dislike her opinions so much you can't see that she has a great wealth of hockey knowledge.
It's a shame that she only writes from the "must win right now this season POV" most of the time without giving any insight as to what the future might bring. She pretty much writes for the lowest common denominator fan and doesn't try to educate her readers much at all.
anyone expecting anything more than softball popcorn from any team generated material is sadly going to be disappointed.
Helen has an infinite amount of hockey knowledge, I may disagree with her conclusions from time to time but she certainly knows which end is up and then some.

I think she knows which end is up, which makes her sometimes lack of objectivity even more frustrating. I find that there are times when she writes as if she is just a fan that attends a handful of games every season, when in fact she should know better.
