Not being ludicrous at all. I hate seeing draft picks moved, regardless of what pick it is.

I don't want to move anything of value for a rental, because I can pretty much assure that rental won't make the slightest difference on this franchise.

Kaberle doesn't make us a cup contender. Kaberle isn't going to be the difference between a #9 versus a #7 seed.

I'd rather hold on to the 7th pick. I'd rather see our current group of dmen battle it out until the end of the season, and hopefully, into the playoffs. I want to see how Gilroy, MDZ, AND Eminger finish the season.

It's nothing personal against Kaberle. He's the best PMD 'available'. I just don't believe in moving assets for rentals. Not for our specific team.

A 7th round pick is hardly an "asset". It is ludicrous.

If the NHL decided to skip that meaningless 7th round, Henrik Lundqvist probably wouldn't be a Ranger today.

And yes, I would absolutely, positively decline a proposal that sent Kaberle to NY for that pitiful draft pick. I really, really would. Nothing personal, I just don't believe in moving assets for rentals, especially when the team is in no position to do so.

Yea, ludicrous. Yes I am.

Would the Rangers have any interest at all in Kreider for Kaberle+? Toronto could also eat some salary if it's required.
Drury anyone?

No need for kaberle. I rather keep Grachev and our 2nd.

I think some people have to consider that kaberle does not want to be a rental. I think whoever trades for him are highly likely to sign him long term. I know it is still a gamble, but I don't see him signing somewhere else after he's been traded. that team will work out a long term deal with him where he will finish his career I think.

seeing that Beauchemin got what he got, I find it funny people saying "leafs would run with that" or anybody saying nyr would never do this.

today made me realise that hfboards knows nothing about valuing a player. I'm not saying NYR would do this deal, I just find it funny.
