Umm... please no. If the return is substantial, which I don't see it being, I'll be happy but I actually think Gustavsson still has a future with the Leafs.

Definitely must be something cooking with the Islanders if it's a trade. The Isles can't trot out Koskinen and Lawson the rest of the season. I am all for tanking when you have no shot at a playoff berth, but that would be just stupid to do that to a young team.

If the Leafs trade Gustavsson their stupid. That said, I'd welcome him in Tampa as the future.

Gustavsson to Detroit for picks? Maybe a 2nd? 3rd + Emmerton?

Niemi is terrible.

Nabokov doesn't do bad in the playoffs, but he doesn't do well either.

Halak wasn't going to be dealt in the East.

Maybe Gustavsson was pulled because of his heart condition ?

The Islanders trading for Gustavsson makes a lot of sense. With all of the injuries, he's worth a shot as a reclamation project. The goalie they played last night settled in nicely, but it's obvious he isn't quite ready for the NHL.

It also makes sense for the Leafs to flip Lupul if they can. He's not the type of winger Toronto needs.

giguere trade doesnt make sense. Why pull your ahl goalie if you're trading an NHL one? Let him finish the game and then call him up.
Thing is, is that Gus was sent down for conditioning. Why pull him out of a game where he can comfortably stay in net and maybe get some of his confidence back?

Based on the seasons Chicago and SJ (at least earlier) are having, you wonder if they regret it a little bit.

Brian Burke will have a 4:30 p.m. press conference today at the ACC. May be another deal coming.

I just gotta add this in.

A lot of people are interested.

Depending on the return, it would be stupid to deal Gustavsson based on a few sample games of what Reimer has done. That said, if Gustavsson is dealt, it will probably make the return for Beauchemin look like the leafs got ripped off. Or Burke actually is an idiot, in which case I feel a bit of sadness for the leaf fans.

it's very rare for the condition Gus has to resurface after 2 treatments. The second time around it's near 100% success rate.

Wow. I really hope for Leafs fans sake that The Monster isn't moved...unless Burke gets some form of amazing return.
