I don't believe that had anything to do with the Lightning though.... I believe It had something to do with Wilson opening his mouth during an interview about a upcoming free agent player who was still under contract with someone else.

I wonder what SFY could bring in with Harju, Wright, Fadden, and/or Blair Jones and/or Phillys 2nd round pick in play for a trade. Id say you could package any of that together and get a solid player in return.

I don't think beauchemin is the answer. Upgrade yes but not in the areas the team really needs

I'd be curious to see what Harju and Philly's 2nd could fetch.

Let us all agree now Ron Wilson is the worst coach in hockey.

Torts should have been the head coach for USA last year. Wilson's terrible.

When the VS camera moved in on Yzerman, he was chatting with Julien Brisbois and was watching Islanders/Leafs game.

Beauchemin I assume?

Somebody got confused about when TB would start wearing their new sweaters.

(clearly targeting Konopka)

The Isles also apparently have Wishart up.

Maybe he was just laughing at Wishart being -2 already (Leafs are leading 2:1).

Back in the preseason, there were Kaberle rumors.

While it's been indicated that SFY isn't looking for a rental, there did seem to be serious interest in him then, the sticking point being the extension, and that nothing could be guaranteed while he was still a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Nobody's talking about Kaberle right now, and everybody's talking about Beauchemin, which should raise his price. We also know how shrewd SFY can be.

No Beauchemin for us:

ESPN_NHL ESPN NHL coverage
RT @AnaheimDucks: Ducks acquire D Francois Beauchemin from Leafs for RW Joffrey Lupul, D Jake Gardiner and a conditional 2013 draft pick.

Bringing in a steady defensemen would do this team wonders. Of course at the right price.

Indeed. But I'd be content if Yzerman was able to pry Montador from Buffalo.

Me too. He's certainly a solid option that wouldn't come at a high price.

With waiving Smith and Ritola, they've cleared a little more space under the cap. That might help bring in better talent.

All the smoke SFY has blown about moving top picks or whatever might end up being just that. With Malone now out for awhile and Lundin and Thompson fighting the injury bug we'll probably be making a deal. I'd like to see us add a defenseman and a depth forward. Brainstorm here, who would you guys like to add? I haven't a clue for what he's signed for but would a guy like Matt Cullen be too much?

Obviously we need defense > offense but..

I think if we get a forward, it will be a depth guy to fill in for an injured/resting player. We'll see though, especially with the recent injuries.
