Dean and the scouts have done a great job building the team except for that one glaring exception, and it must be addressed soon

Ugly Canadian drive it through the net goals

REALLY?

This team has plenty of guys who score those kinds of goals, we are in desperate need of a pure goal-scorer, a finisher.

I think he established that is how the Kings score goals (the ugly Canadian way), and that he is looking to add more skill to add to the variety of goal scoring.

Loved the interview.

Basically we need a forward with above average offensive ability. No 3rd/4th liners or d-men.

And looking at names that might possibly become available, there aren't many of those around, and one of the few who has that above average offensive ability is Dustin Penner. The guy has a set of hands (and size) that not many of the Kings players possess.

But he scores goals the way the rest of the team does. Grind it out. Penner is not coming to L.A. except as a free agent or as a member of another team.

I like Hemsky better, and I think he has a skill set that no other winger on the Kings has (maybe Lok, but he hasn't developed yet). Hemsky is a skilled player who can average a PPG, is still relatively young (27), and is signed through next season at 4.1M.

The only obstacles are his injury history, and the fact that he plays RW.

Move Brown to left wing. In my opinion, Hemsky would be cheaper to acquire than Penner due to the injury history of Hemsky.

Or...

Loktionov-Kopitar-Williams
Smyth-Stoll-Hemsky
Clifford-Lewis-Brown
Richardson-Handzus-Simmonds

Poni, Sturm, Parse, Westgarth

You gotta like that all Oilers 2nd line. Those guys were all teammates during the Oilers cup run. I think Smyth and Hemsky played together.
