...who exactly was ready to challenge Lucic on the Habs tonight? I know this is the common theme with you guys, but what in this game allows you to make this point tonight...there isn't one guy Lucic wouldn't have fought...
Yes, I know, he didn't fight Laraque back in the 1800's.
Moen and him were jawing eachother pretty good. I'm sure if push had come to shove, moen would have gone with him. Might have lost though.
And I don't see how bringing up a past example of Lucic ducking a superior fighter helps your cause. Lucic is a better fighter than 99% of the team, if not 100%. So they don't fight him. Cool. Now when a better fighter for Lucic to test himself against came along, he avoided that confrontation too.
What's the difference?

Before all the ranting posts...what cost us the game is piss poor defensive play and a bad night by Price, not the fact taht we don't have a goon at the end of the bench...though it would ahve been nce to have Laraque on this night.
Is there any doubters left that beleive we're tough enough?
We're not tough enough but we have more pressing needs that should be addressed before we think about it. What would be nice is a tough intimidating defensive dman or a tough goalscoring top 6. But I would just as happily settle without the tough part if we have to pay a premium for it.
3-1 against the Bruins this year, the only loss was in a gong show and now we're doomed.
Get some god damned perspective and realize that every ****ing time the Habs have beaten this Bruins team it's because they outskilled them.
But go ahead, call up Ryan White and get Zach Stortini off waivers. That woulda solved things tonight.
I agree with you for the most part, but I think games like this set a tone, you're going to have some Habs players hearing footsteps next game, especially guys like Hammer and Spacek, causing them to make even more turnovers.
It would be nice to have another forward beside Moen who could answer the bell, and at least one defenceman who can fight. Don't want Pools fighting.
If the Habs PP can stay untracked that might be prove to be a better deterrent to the B's goonery.
Big cheer for HABS organisation for bringing White instead off Pyatt. Bravo.
yea cause we always play games like these...
Pyatt is being put on the shutdown line and his speciality is his defensive play... Wana put White there instead? c'mon...
What a night! Very entertaining night, a win would have been good but we're not too far away from Bruins points anyways. Not a big deal. If anything, this has shown we can score multiple goals. But its also shown that our defense was very off tonight. AK and gomez tonight, ouch, they played like ****.
Yea tonight we could have used muscle for the fights. But we won't be playing like this every time, so what's the point? Haven't we learned enough from BGL? What's for sure though, is that Bruins will from now on try to push us around and intimidate us more. We can counter it. We just need to actually help Price next time. If the fights went out of control, I'd say the refs are mostly to blame, but it ain't easy when you have up to 6 players fighting.
What you saw tonight doesn't usually happen in the playoffs.
Wouldn't mind a guy like Neil though.
I'm not talking about the fighting. I'm talking about every play, the habs were having a hard time winning battles out there, and often looked scared to take the hits. It reminded me of playing philly.
Hold on guys, Laraque wants to explain the "fighters code" again and how fighters dont tangle with non fighters or punch when someone is on the ice. Maybe someone should explain that **** to the coward bruins?
