Nick Spaling is the NHL's 5th best PK, and no I don't mean penalty killer. He IS our penalty kill

IF we lose Goc long term, we are going to need a center... I don't think Poile can avoid that anymore...

There we go. Good game, boys!

Pekka Rinne is a Wing killer. 11 games against with a 2.09 GAA and a .940 SV%. That's beastly.

Leggy with some nice work on his goal. Finished with 1 goal on 2 shots and a +1

Erat with the same stats. Beautiful snipe on our first goal.

Wilson with his goal. The kid was determined. Four shots on goal tonight

SK continues to impress. 1G 1A +1 and 4 SOG

Weber, Ward, Suter, Smithson, Hornqvist, and Goc all picking up assists.

Good night to be a Preds fan

Honestly, I don't think there is a better 5-man combination on a PK than our top unit.

I agree. And just for clarification I wasn't trying to take away from the rest of the guys who play the PK for us. It just seems like Spaling lives to kill penalties. It's a treat to watch.

Nice win and maybe Trotz should throw the gauntlet down more often. Nice scoring from different lines. Once again we out hustled the wings. Mark this down we beat the wings in a home and home. This made up for the Edmonton loss. Because not in anybody's wildest dream would we thought we do this. Rinne continues to do a great job. I've got to give it to Legwand for double shifting and a tap in goal. Bad to hear about Goc hope it's not serious. If it is then we got to make a move. We got to make one anyways. Nice defensive effort. A great win

@JoshuaCooper Trotz says he doesn't expect Goc to miss time. Called it a body strain of some sort, whatever that is.

Not to mention, it sounded like they originally planned on having him return, but when the game was 4-0 in the second, they decided not to risk it.

based on Trotz's recent history characterizing injuries this translates into 10 days on IR...

This from "Dr. Trotz"?

OMG! He's dead!

I guess we can just prop him up with a goalie stick ala "Weekend at Bernie's

Now you're just being a smartass. He'll only miss 8 days and no IR

I was thinking this, too. No need in risking a worse injury in a game like tonight. Double shift Leggy, and keep the lead. Of course I do completely understand the skepticism based on how some of these injuries have been described by Trotz versus the reality.

There is better PK unit, it's with Klein and O'Brien out there. I know Weber and Suter get all the hype but for the most part, Klein and O'Brien usually start the PK against the other teams top PP unit. That's what I've noticed anyway. Suter and Weber get minutes as well but Klein gets the most PK time of any defenseman we have.

I also have to say, the kid takes a puck to the face, gets up, skates off the ice and if I'm not mistaken doesn't miss a shift. He does this any time I see him go down. He's gone crashing into the boards and it looks like he's busted an ankle only to be back up and out there for his next shift. One of the toughest and most dedicated team players we've got. When you see someone do that on a regular basis, I tend to give a little bit more credence to his overall play and can oversee some of his shortcomings on occasion. He gets bashed way too much around here but I'll tell you this, he and Legwand will play hurt or after getting injured more than most guys will do. Have to love their hearts and their commitment to the team.

Great game tonight by the boys. Gonna save that one on the DVR for a little while and enjoy it.

Can't remember last time we had such a convincing win at the Joe. Feels really good to beat them in their own house like that.

The first half of the game we were putting pucks on net like nobodies business. In fact all of our goals and pretty much all our great chances came off of rebounds, crashing the net and overall just creating havoc around their net. Then in the 2nd half of the game we got away from that some and we saw the Preds I hate to see. Not only does the extra pass and/or drop pass usually not work for us lots of times it ends up in a turnover which quite often leads to a good chance for the opposition the other way.

Keep it simple and get the puck around the net with bodies. It works for us.

Also Leggy should have silenced some of his haters for at least tonight. He had a great game. Tonight was a perfect example of why he can be so valuable.

Bring on Foppa and his broke foot Saturday!!!!!!

hope Goc is alright..that line has been great.

seemed like there was about ten penalties on wings tonight that didnt get called. couple on lady byng himself (guess he gets benefit of doubt because of this). hooking and holding, and a few interference's to round out the night. gets a bit old imo.

always fun to beat them..especially after they got their stars back in the lineup.

Also forgot to say the Wings get away with more interference than anybody in the league. I'm not just talking about the Bertuzzi trip. I was infuriated when Legwand got called for the chincy hooking call when the Wings had been getting away with interference all night. If your going to let them play let them play. I hate inconsistent reffing.

Possible call up for Geoffrion? Or which center should we bring up/or who should we try to pick up in FA/trading?
