Glad to see him come up again. Last chance? Hardly, did you see how many chances Stewart got (apparently one too little)? I have mixed feelings about Stillman, at least he's no Reinprecht.

he has to start showing he is destined to stay with the big boys now. theres no doubt he has the talent, but he must play with the same desperation as everyone else does night in night out.
he's a RFA this summer right?

It's not like he's really disappointed when he's been up... I feel like he could have the same kinda impact as Dadonov if given more ice time, hopefully DeBoer gives him more then 5 minutes

Hopefully Repik does what Dadanov and Ellerby have done this season.

DeBoer has a lot of confidence in him...

"Repik will play on a line with David Booth and Mike Santorelli, a fast and skillful line, that DeBoer joked hoped wouldn’t score two goals but give up three."

http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports...tinel+Blogs%29

Of course, we don't know if that is really true that DeBoer said that because Harvey Fialkov is the only guy in the field of journalism who doesn't use direct quotes.

Can't stand that. I really don't know how that guy has a job, it's kinda pathetic.

+2.

Hopefully he shows something. However, I think he is traded unless he becomes Ray Whitney lite.

I didn't think he was bad but he wasn't really noticeable. He didn't play at all in the third. Pete must not like his defensive play or Repik is not playing proper positionally. There were no obvious mistakes that I can remember.

He'll be up again post trade deadline.

certainly a way to send a message. i don't remember seeing this type of 1 for 1 call up swap after 1 game before.

exactly what I'm thinking. There is something about Repik that DeBoer flat out doesn't like. We likely won't ever know either.

Dont discount the notion of which other coach for the Panthers will Repik score 20 goals for next yr too. Tallon may see this as an inability to develop and use certain players properly and Deboer isnt his future behind the bench. Definitely a big wait-and-see with this situation.

That would be extremely difficult to blame DeBoer for that.
Apparently, guys like Mike Santorelli, Evgeny Dadonov, Keaton Ellerby, etc. haven't had the same problem. I don't think DeBoer gets fired based on the development of the young players. If anything, he gets fired for not making the playoffs for a 3rd consecutive year. Unfair or not, that's the way the business works.

You have to give Repik props....kid gets sent down and has to endure the brutal travel schedules and probably feels like crap after he barely plays and gets benched and demoted while good ol' boys club member Scott Timmins is up with the big club. He goes back down though, puts up 6 shots on goal and is the third star of a 1-0 loss to Abbotsford. Obviously he had a good game since it's tough to become a star of a game when you lose and don't score a goal.

If we were ever going to bring up Repik over the pluggers like Thomas, Timmins, etc. you would think it'd be now after moving Frolik. I'd love to see Repik get the chance up on the top lines with some skilled guys. I feel like he's on a ridiculous short leash with PBD but he's our most proven prospect at the AHL level and we know he has skill.

While I agree with this (especially after the Frolik trade), Timmins has outplayed Repik in his short time here doing the little things to help the team when he's on the ice. Same for Bill Thomas. Repik doesn't do well in a checking line role, and no young player has ever been handed a spot by DeBoer before on the top lines. He's been consistent with that. I don't see Repik being here much longer.

That's cause Repik doesn't play 2-way game. As Erick said, he's not meant for that 3rd line role. That's why PDB put him on the 2nd line in a call up situation. Of course, he was pretty invisible in the Blues game, and that's about that. But Repik has a chance to play a bit before the deadline, and if he isn't packaged and sent off somewhere, then he has the rest of the season to spend in the NHL and show what he's made of.

Agree. Saying Deboer can't develop young players is ridiculous.
