what a steal for the Preds! no roster player going the other way and the pick will probably be a low one especially if you add more before the deadline. Fisher fits your team well.

Yikes... 4.2 million cap hit for a player who's only had 1 season over 50 points. His contract fits right in with Erat, Legwand and Dumont.

Yes he fits our system, but the Predators need a dynamic offensive player and Fischer does not provide that.

Re-signing Weber should be fun.

The money, however, does bother me. $4.5, $4.2, $3.5. That's an awful lot of money down the middle. He's also signed for another 2 years after this one. What happens to Goc? Cal O?
It's likely the end of Goc, who I do like...but admittedly, Fisher brings more to the table, and should contribute 25ish goals per season, something Goc hasn't come close to and likely won't.

I don't see how it's an "overpayment" at all. It's a bigtime seller's market with so few teams out of it, and Fisher was going to draw a first from whomever snagged him. I would have liked to have seen a sniper\playmaker...Hemsky perhaps...but then we start looking at tossing Ellis or Josi into the mix as well. It's a first round pick in a cruddy draft.

Every player on our team has underachieved this year so I wouldn't put too much stock into his season. He's going from arguably the worst coach in the NHL to the best and a team that brings out the best in players. It's entirely possible he returns back to his 25-25-50P with excellent two-way play. You guys really will love him. I wasn't really a fan but I know a lot of people on our board were obsessed with him.

I am suprised though you guys could take on 4M+ without giving any back

I love the deal. People worried about what happens when Lombardi comes back should probably not worry about that...who knows if that even happens, ever at this point.

Dumont comes off the books and that'll easily cover Fisher's salary, and so does Sully. 4.2 isn't a big thing to cover. Fisher will thrive on a Trotz team.

Fisher is awesome. Physical, fast, hard-worker, great teammate, great person, puts up about 20 goals, 50 points.

That certainly makes sense, but where does Goc play? He isn't a 4th line center, I don't think I've ever seen him play wing. One of Legs, Lombardi, Fisher or Goc would have to play wing. That is of course if Lombardi ever makes it back onto the ice.

My question is.. Who will leave when everyone's healthy. I think we need to put Svatos in the lineup to add some offense but who will go? Svatos, Dumont, Smithson, Ward, Halischuk, Tootoo, Spaling Or someone else?

I remember a year or two ago Legwand took a two week stint at wing and put up the best numbers I can remember him putting up. I would love seeing Legwand- Fisher- Erat or something

Yup I thin Cal is gone to. I dont mind this cause we still have our 3 prospects to trade an NJs 2nd. I did want some one with more Offensive fire power. Who thinks Poile gets a winger to?

Great deal guys. I've always liked the Predators, and I'm a huge, HUGE fan of Mike Fisher. This is a perfect fit. Like someone else said, the guy is a WARRIOR.

Exactly, maybe he picked up Fisher and his contract because Lombardi is done.... ...Poile is smarter than that especially with Weber in need of a fat contract

here's hoping we win a series or 2 (like always) I was expecting some of Sullivan's contract $ to go to Weber, now it's all going to Fisher. I like the trade, basically Arnott for Fisher, but the $ might make things tight.

Yeah, over the years I've seen Legwand play wing occasionally. He's not the greatest at faceoffs either, so no loss there. I really do hope we re-sign Goc though. The guy just keeps getting better every year.

Preds fans will love and respect Fisher's work ethic. Hard to find a guy on the ice who will work harder then him.

You guys are getting a good hockey player, and an even better human being. He should fit in well in Nashville.

Now does our PK get messed with? Fish can obviously slot into it, but do we mess with the chemistry going on?

We have no idea what the budget is with this team, please stop worrying about that.

We signed a player that upgrades are talent offensivley and defensively.

Up the middle now, Lombardi, Fisher, Legwand, Goc is pretty damn strong if Lombardi comes back.

Here's my take on lines this week (if Goc is not hurt)

Sullivan-Legwand-Hornqvist
Sk-Goc-Erat
Ward-Fisher-Wilson
Smithson-Spaling-Dumont

If Goc is hurt
Sullivan-Fisher-Wilson
Sk-Legwand-Erat
Ward-Spaling-Hornqvist
Halischuk-Smithson-Dumont

The part about Lombardi being done is what I fear also. I like the pickup generally since I really don't think we could have got better without giving up a near NHL ready defensive prospect (which now we can still package for a scoring winger). If Lombardi returns, I would put Legwand at wing. I really like Goc, and I would hate to see him go.

You guys are going to love this player. He's a beast on the ice and a real quality person. He will be present in your community and will work hard to quickly become a fan favourite. He's going to be missed here.

Looks like Fish will debut on Saturday. Just got a text about a promotion. For #12 Mike Fisher's debut this Saturday... $12 for upper level seats and $112 for two lower level seats.
