I'm a west islander and personally I find the only good place to watch the game around here is Le Manoir on Boul. St-Jean.
Tons of plasma TV's and a mix of old and young people. If you go during a game lots of younger people if you go outside of a game time lots of old people. Good/bad food, depends what you order but the prices are very good for beer/food.
I'm not much of a bar guy and it's not really a true bar, but damn do they have a ******** of nice TV's there. (Still 18+)
Aside from that all we have is Cage and nothing downtown is good enough to make me want to go there instead of my living room or Manoir for the game. I guess the only real bar I've been to downtown outside of typical clubs would be madhatters and it isn't very good.
Crescent street is good for clubs and strip clubs. .
No it's not. Crescent is trash for clubs.
Better off going to St. Laurent/St. Denis for clubs. There are good lounges/bars on Crescent though (Stogies is my favourite).
And yeah, Peel Pub is pure trash. Comparable to crap dives like Reggies, Boite Karaoke, etc. Don't understand why people go to Peel Pub when McLean's is right next door. It's still pretty divish, but it's at least tolerable compared to Peel Pub.
Simple question here, do any of know how much cost a licence to sale reebok nike underarmor shoes etc. Or is it possible to get that license? In what price range do you think it cost for a independant sport store to get that?
Me and my mate just came back to Norway, from a 10 day trip to Montreal! Had a great time!! Great city, great people, and the Bell centre was amazing! this tread helped out alot, thanks!!!!
Hey guys, just a quick question about some locations downtown. I'm going up in March and staying at the Maritime Plaza hotel on Rue Guy. I was just wondering if the Tiffany Store on Sherbrooks street was within walking distance. Thanks!
Anyone know which bars/clubs are good on a Monday night these days?
I'm talking huge amounts of alcohol, loud music, dancing and scantily dressed college chicks looking to make bad decisions?
On a Monday night?
Out of luck during the Winter. Unless thre's a game most of the bars/clubs are dead on a Monday night during the season.

A little advice for all those coming to Montreal. Don't leave any valuables in your cars. I've lived here all my life and I'm embarrassed to say that there have been frequent thefts of vehicles and break-ins of 'out of town' vehicles in our city. Don't get me wrong, Montreal is a great place to visit and live but just don't be naive. Like any city, there is crime if the opportunity allows it to be. So park your vehicle in lighted areas and keep your valuables (wallet, purse, laptops..) clear from view in your vehicles and you will enjoy your trip to our great city immensely.
Every table has a sign on it with the name of a player on the Habs roster. If said player scores a goal during the game, free shooters to everyone sitting at that table.
I think the place looks great, not too expensive (especially for a bar located on the Plateau), and the people know how to have good fun.
I'll be there with ~20 people on the 12th against the Loafs. Hopefully some of you guys give the bar a try soon!
Going to the game tonight and with the weather, I'd like to find an interior parking. What are my options near the Bell Centre and where's the best bang for the buck?

I say all us HFers meet up at this place. Looks nice and sounds pretty chill too. I've passed by it several times, walking around, but never actually went in.
Major plus to people sitting with me, since I don't drink, if our player scores, someone gets my drink.

taverne Normand is a really cool place to hang out
Specially when everything else is filled up on mont royal
But the crowd is mostly french, just so you know
Very cool ambiance even when theres no habs game.
Friendly barmaids/man but thats not a good place if youre looking to hook yourself up :p
Try the Edgar next to this place, (same owner) different type of place
We call this place the 450-coké tho

Hey that's cool with me, make sure you put in a reservation in advance though. Since i'm fairly new around here I don't know a lot of the regulars but I guess it would make me feel better if I knew that people sitting around me were HFers.
Hopefully they don't give you a table with Gill or Picard's name on it. Last time I went was against the Ruins and we had Plekanec... he didn't score though.

Hey guys, was looking for some info around planning a bachelor party in Montreal. Where would be the best area to book hotels as to be close to decent clubs/strip clubs and whatnot?

Weird question but whatever, my roommates from Vancouver and is a Canucks fan, I'm pretty sure his cat is a Habs fan though, she loves playing with the Habs string and is sleeping on my Habs t-shirt right now. Does anyone know of any stores downtown that would sell sweaters for cats with Habs logos on it?
Ps I'm not a weird cat guy who dresses them up, just think it would be funny.
