Not sure why people expect a 7th dman to step in and play like an all star...maybe you guys should go take a look at other teams #7dmen as a comparison

If Kostitsyn plays with the same intensity/effort he had last night, just put him on waivers. He's worse than useless. In fact, if it wasn't for the fact we don't have an extra forward with Darche hurt, I'd sit him in the press box.

Book it.
Not necessarily. I'm not in love with the Subban-Gill combo. It makes for a good little story, but it's not an ideal pairing by any means. This is where Gauthier should get another solid D man to play with PK and let Martin roll back the Gill even strength minutes.

Ya fair enough. I guess this is exactly what his role is. Just so used to pointless benchings I got a little confused...

From Mike Boone's blog:

Zenon Konopka:

Told Arpon Basu: "When you prepare for a team, you want to look at every avenue that you can exploit. When you go against Montreal, it's no secret you want to get physical with them." The league leader in PiM also said he wouldn't mind playing here.

I agree with that, but you have to look no further than Subban's performance since Picard has been scratched and he's been paired with Gill. He has put up ELITE offensive numbers(and playing very well defensively, in MOST of the games) since.

It must have been fighting with Subban in the dressing room.
