I can't think of another player like Lappy, who is currently playing.

Even if he is wearing a tinted shield, having to do it still means he isn't 100% and he said he's not coming back unless he is.

As an unscientific opinion, I think the lights could have more to do with his eye injury than the concussion. If your one eye is damaged, your brain may be forcing the other eye to do more, and it sets off an imbalance and confuses the brain where there's bright lights.

Light sensitivity is a very common thing with brain injuries. I remember reading somewhere that Primeau still gets sick when he is exposed to bright light.

True, but I remember someone else suffering from a concussion saying the lights set it off too. Can't remember if it was Primeau or Gagne...

He isnt coming back this year and I donít think the flyers would let him in all honesty. He will see where he is at during the summer. If he isnít ready they will play the rathje charade game next year. Shooter can get practice by trading lappy to a team near the cap floor. Let lappy be the test so they can prepare the same move for pornger lol. Then he retires and takes a job with the team in some capacity.

I rather have him stay on LTIR and guide the prospects than trade him away.

Gross! So we get shut out badly and it most likely will be on Kate Gosselin's show. Lovely, just lovely.

Hmm. Watch that show and see Lappy interacting with the kids. Watch that show and see the ***** flip out on her kids for being kids.

Hard call.

PCS is not fun. Mine isn't as bad as primeau's, but I can't drink a drop of alcohol. If the only thing that bothers lappy is bright lights, put on some wayfarers and call it a career man. He'd make a great assistant coach.

didnt know where to post this.

"It's been a great fit," O'Donnell said. "My wife and I were just saying, there are a lot of things that we miss, like our friends, the weather and things like that. But for a pure hockey decision, I know that I'm getting towards the end of my career. Whether this is my last year or if I have one after that, or who knows, I wanted one shot at another Stanley Cup."

not shocking at all that he may want to come back as i believed this from day 1. I believe he does resign, unless they win the cup.

A continuation of the problem highlighted in prior weeks...

Laperriere says he still has one symptom: indoor lighting causes him vision problems.
Tim P. is going to have an update later tonight.

True, maybe he should try that.

But either way, if you have that problem you should probably sit it out.

Update from Tim P. @ CSN:

Lappy update
Ian Laperriere, looking buff, says the only post-concussion symptom he continues to have is problems with indoor lighting. It causes him vision problems. Ironically, if the Flyer played outdoors he’d have no issues but he can’t skate indoors without vision problems. Laperriere continues to scout both amateurs and professionals for the Flyers during his rehab. “As much as I want to be part of this team, I can’t right now until this goes away,” he said.

I hope he realizes that he's still very much a part of this team, at least in the hearts of fans if nowhere else.

At least he's not having the headaches and other symptoms associated with PCS, but vision problems are no fun.

Get better Lappy!

This makes me sad. Very hypothetically, say **** gets real in the playoffs, we're in a certain something game that would get us a certain something. With the cap not being in effect is there anyway to dress Lappy, put him on the ice for five seconds, and maybe get his name on a certain something?

Edit: I know this would essentially put us down a man all game. I'm just curious.

He still has his stall/seat in the Flyers locker room. I am sure he knows what he means to the organization and the fans, for all his sacrifices.
