I mean it was pretty obvious Hamhuis had a concussion. Hopefully it's not that long, concussions are tricky, timeline is indefinite could be a few days, could be a few weeks.
**** sucks, especially on defense... Offense is going to have to step up, gonna have to win games 8-5
I'm soooo sick of this crap. The Canucks have constant defensive injury problems so Gillis goes out and gets two incredibly durable defensemen. Then both of them start getting hurt. It's really, really getting old.

Hmm, what if Gillis goes after the most injury prone defensemen? I think I might be onto something here!
"Indefinitely" is kind of a scary term, but it has variable definitions. Could be a day, week, longer...concussion is the scary part.
It is just absurd as to how cursed our blueline is. I think the catalyst for this all began with Sami Salo and Mattias Ohlund, when Salo(then a Senator) took a slapshot that drilled Ohlund in the eye.
I think I've figured it out. Tanev is picking off the healthy members of the D one-by-one as other injured D return to maintain his position in the lineup...

There might be some changes if the team goes on a 10 game losing streak. Otherwise I think it's going to be full steam ahead, as usual, strictly following Gillis' plan.

Can't Canucks just make everyone wear those Messier helmets? Probably not this season, but could make them get used to it next offseason + camp...
Top end Bauer helmets offer even more protection now.
Can this defense revert back to 06/07? It could but it has to be all in by committee to succeed. God knows we have to keep healthy..
Well they don't have to exactly be as good defensively considering the lead we currently have. We are deeper up front. Much better power play and as good a PK as the 2006/07 season; just play "defense first" hockey in even strength situations.
And we did have also a bunch of D that season missing chunks of the season (Mitchell 20 games, Salo 15 games, etc.,).
Stay healthy defense, 8 more games til the trade deadline..lets see how this six can stay healthy..
Maybe we're spoiled and I'm used to looking at Edler-Ehrhoff, Hamhuis-Bieksa, Ballard-Alberts all year long but ...oh god...that looks hideous...
Here's hoping Hamhuis has a quick recovery; from the sounds of it: shouldn't be as serious as Mitchell's concussion. If not...let's hope Edler has a miraculous recovery...anyone have applicable stem cell technology?!
Vigneault also said he didn't have a problem with Getzlaf's hit on Hamhuis (with a little shot at the twins)
"I thought it was a good hit by a big player," he said. "Dan was watching his pass and should have maybe been trying to protect himself a little bit. Some guys finish hits, some don't. If Hank or Danny (Sedin) are coming at you, maybe you can watch your pass. If Getzlaf is coming at you, you've got to have your head up."
