Who would you rather have on the rangers Del Zotto or Victor Hedman?

I don't know who I would rather have. MDZ will be an all-star in a few years, Hedman will be too.
I think I keep MDZ. I was going to say Hedman when I first started writing but the more i think about it, potential talent, Hedman = Pronger, MDZ = Leetch. With guys like Staal, Girardi, Sauer and McDonagh playing good D and having some size, I think you keep the maybe Leetch. Although Hedman is more of a sure thing.

Hedman was drafted 2nd overall. Del Zotto was drafted 20th overall. Trust me, there's a reason. To say MDZ=Leetch is way, way off imo. Offensively, it's a stretch, but maybe, and that's a big MAYBE. Defensively, not in a trillion years. Leetch was one of the top 5 defensive players in the league in his day. Del Zotto will never be close to that. I wouldn't make the trade now though because DZ's stock is on the down compared to last season.
And don't forget that we're talking about Brian Leetch here. You can just throw that name around like nothing.
I did not say he will be. I said if he lives up to his potential, that is the type of player he can be. When MDZ plays D well he plays it very similar to Leetch. Is he as good even on a good day? NO. I dont think Hedman is Pronger either. Style wise and potential is what i'm talking about. Dont forget why #2 played with #23.
I would add our first this year with Del Zotto to land Victor Hedman. I know it hurts our offensive defense but Hedman is good enough for me to make that deal.

It's a 400+ point gap vs a 6 point gap. Hedman is as good or better in every facet of the game, including offense. He's worth at least Del Zotto, a prospect, and a high pick.

I think MDZ will score more points then Hedman when both are at full potential. But he is less likely to reach that full potential then Hedman.

Well right now of course I'd rather have Hedman but I'm not trading DZ in a year in which he's got 10 points so far, and had to be sent down. Tampa would laugh at me. I wait for his stock to hopefully go back up and then make the offer next year.
His stock will go back up, he is to good for him not to turn it around next year. Gilroy really does not have half the talent or hockey IQ that MDZ has and he is playing not to bad. so if matt can turn it around no reason MDZ wont.

depending on what we have to give to get Hedman, I take Hedman all day every day.
I did not ask who is better, I know Hedman is.
The Rangers are in a spot this year to improve in a few positions but it would mean giving up some prospects. Would you keep what you got and let your prospects pan out or do you try to improve so that we can win a cup in a year or two?
With MDZ and Stamkos being childhood friends, I thought we might be able to get Hedman for less then some teams.
