Hmm, Hutch posting things as fact without backing it up with a source. That's something new.

An existing franchise would have to relocate. As for re-alignment, that would be relatively simple. Move the Amerks to the Eastern Conference (assuming the franchise relocating to KC is from the East), move one of Rockford, Chicago or Milwaukee to the North and place KC in the West division.

only problem, Rochester was asked to go East but declined, or they've asked another club to switch w/ them (Syracuse)

First idea with minimal changes,
Move Adirondack to the Atlantic
Move Rochester to the East
Move Milwaukee and Chicago to the North
and KC goes to the West

Second idea, Western Conference
Southwest Division SA, Houston, Texas, OKC and KC
West Division Peoria, Milwaukee, Chicago, Rockford and GR
North Division Ham, Manitoba, LE, Toronto and Abb

Notes: LE will play the West teams a lot for out of division games.

Eastern Conference
Atlantic Division Man, Port, Wor, Springfield and Providence
East Division Albany, Syr, Roch, Adirondack, Bridgeport and Conn
Southeast Division WBS, Hershey, Norfolk, Char and Bingo

Notes: Adjust for the team that moves to KC. Rochester is re-united with Syracuse.

I don't believe the Amerks would have a leg to stand on in this scenario. They are the furthest east and south of the teams in the West (Hamilton and Toronto are the only two others that would be reasonable). They would be re-united with the traditional AHL markets and would have to travel less. Don't see an argument.

NHL In Kansas City Failed Because Of League!!!

The Expansion foray(1974) into Kansas City was a joke. The NHL teams forked over mostly minor league talent to the Scouts. Its no wonder they didn't last long. The NHL didn't want teams to be successful or competitive for at least 5 seasons or more. The Scouts had Wilf Paiement,Guy Charron and not much else. Its a black eye for the NHL that they should try to rectify. If the NY Islanders don't end up there the Los Angeles Kings should move their farm club there or better yet operate two clubs in the AHL. Since AEG(Anschutz Entertainment Group) owns the Sprint Center it could work...And the Kings have the talent to stock two clubs...Besides the Western Conference and Eastern Conference never meet so there would not be trouble in that regard...unless they meet in the finals...Kansas City deserves an NHL team again and should be first in line with the Canadian teams Quebec City and Winnipeg. A fourth team could be put in say Milkaukee or Seattle...Of course they would've to get teams through expansion but this time NHL teams should have to give up their 2nd best 'tender, 3rd line forwards and top 5-6 D-men with no one but rookies and 2nd year players exempt...On top of that expansion teams should be permitted to draft Amateur players two years prior. They would draft at the bottom of each round of course...and after round four should have bonus picks to help stock club too...NHL needs to make amends to the disaster they left in KC a long long time ago!!!

Milwaukee will never support an NHL team. There aren't enough wealthy people or companies here anymore or hockey fans to support $50 and $75 ticket prices. In the past, Chicago opposed a Milwaukee team. Bill Wirtz was on the expansion committee, so that killed Milwaukee's chance for a team, rather than be a geographic rival, like in baseball, basketball, soccer and even football when the Packers played games in Milwaukee.

it's been done over and over again, Rochester wants it their way, no matter what, just as how they've been postulating/whining/complaining the last 3 seasons and 2 different owners..... this is why and the primary reason Buffalo only did 1 year contracts until 2007 and why Rochester is now telling Florida we don't need you either in how we run our organization---see the independence threat thread on here.... THE League makes the call.......

The league makes the call for what? We've already been over the topic ad nauseum that there is nothing in the by-laws about a current AHL team playing without a parent club so if Rochester wants to go the indepedent route, it's THEIR call, not the league's.

If they can't get an NHl team.....sure, why not? It would be worth a try to have an AHL team in Kansas. It's not like it would cost the future owner(s) a lot of money if it failed.
