POTG- Gaborik
Good: Happy to see Staal getting serious PP time. Sauer & McD D-play.
Bad: Another game, another player missing a wide open net (Arty hitting the post). It's an epidemic. MDZ=AHL. MOAR Eminger! Can't believe im saying that.
Redden: The nooz talking heads, thinking that Egypt has a democracy after the military has take over. Lateral move. Congrats twitter generation.
Sorry, watching cnn now.

i hear you man, I can't take much more of this. it seems like forever that this team just can't score more than 2g. they've been mediocre for so long i'm becoming numb.

this team needs firepower fast, because this season is quickly becoming irrelevant. Henrik is not taking this game to the next level, but he's being paid like he's won 2 cups.

Very long I hope. You fire the coach now and then you start to question everything good that's happened so far. We are 1 of the youngest teams in the league and I have no idea what people were expecting out of this season. I gave us a 50-50 chance of making playoffs before the season started. We are thereabouts right now.

The team has come back to Earth . Boyle has come back to Earth , Callahan is what he is a 20 goal guy not a 35-40 goal guy . We have young D men one of whom has been yo yo around and put in a position to fail by his coach . Bad play by WW for playing it back twice . Hank didn't make the big save and bail out the team on turnovers . I just hope this loss doesn't force Darth Sather into making a real bad move . Bottom line giving up 3 is andeath sentence for this team . We are still more than Richards away from any kind of title let alone more than a bottom seed . It's been a fun ride but the truth of the NYR is what it is a team with limited scoring with a waiver wire guy playing first line center , along with a 36 yr old cripple , who at least wins face offs I'll give that to Vaclav . He has won a few big draws .

Good: Hank (awesome game), McDonagh (every shift he had a positive impact), Gaborik (good to see a bounce back game).

Bad: Del Zotto and his timely mistakes. Wolski, Stepan, Zuccarello, Callahan. These guys have fallen off the face of the earth since Prospal and them returned. Of course that would only happen with the Rangers.

Redden: It's baffling how bad the Rangers luck is. They're always on the bad luck end. The hockey gods hate them and their fans.

We gotta hope that Cally, Dubinsky, Prospal, and EC all suffer season-ending injuries on Sunday.

Anybody think that if the Rangers lose on Sunday they might be on the verge of losing 10 in a row with the Kings, Devils, and Flyers next week? That's how I feel..

Change blew to ****ed and I'm believing it.

The schedule is not tougher, the Rangers can and should be able to beat anyone with an honest effort and a few goals. No team in this league is so far superior that we can't beat them. The Rangers are beating themselves -- look at these last six games -- all games very much within grasp filled with poor finishing and dumb plays. And blaming Tortorella? Really... only thing you can complain about regarding him is the personnel (DZ-Gilroy?). He's doing what he can with what he has but he isn't the one hitting the post on a wide open net or shooting wide on the PP or turning the puck over in the slot -- or giving up fat rebounds into the slot .... or not clearing the crease.

It's a collective team effort right now that just isn't cutting it.

Take a break. Baseball season is around the corner, spring traininggggg!!!! I'm going to watch every Ranger game as long as it doesn't interfere with my Yankees.

For the most part I agree, but-

The problem is that yes, we didn't expect much this season, but we were firmly in a playoff spot 10 games ago, the season is now imploding.
Torts needs to fix something, we are losing in the same ways we have since game 1 this season.
Defensive mistakes late, an ineffective powerplay and a lack of scoring.,

If we hold on and get in the PO I think he deserves another year, if we miss the playoffs again, I think he has to go...

..............

The problem with the rangers is were not a complete team who is playing bad basic hockey....

The scorers who haven't come through lately had chances this game. Anisimov hits post on wide open net. Gaborik dosen't score on penalty shot.

On defense we turn the puck over. cost us two goals tonight the first on the anisimov turnover the second on the del zotto play which lead to the power play goal.

Goal-tending is fine Hank is still one of the best even if he lets in a soft one every now and than.

But if your a championship caliber team you capitalize on other teams mistakes.

You dont turn the puck over every chance you get so much so that you start making your goaltender look bad.

Its not a complete team and the organization needs to fix that.

I don't propose that firing Tortorella is the answer. Not at all.

I question his choices and decisions, though. Stop line juggling from here on, it's not like his tossing up the lines has led to a clear advantage. He should leave it to the players to make it work.

And I will beat the dead horse once again. Send Del Zotto down, stop the bleeding where it is obvious, and this is one place where it is obvious.

We overachieved earlier in the year and now everyone is freaking out because we've hit a skid. How long is Torts' leash? It better be pretty freakin' long. He's done a great job creating a team identity and getting his players to buy into a system. He's getting a ton out of young players stepping into big roles. Like others have said WHAT DID (anyone) EXPECT THIS YEAR? We have proven that we have tremendous potential going forward. I still think we'll end up in the playoffs, but in the off-season anyone who thought this team had better than a ~60% chance of making the playoffs was crazy. The only thing on this team that I am 100% unhappy with is Gaborik. Otherwise we're a young team with a strong identity and a good foundation, currently experiencing some growing pains. I'm fine with that. I'm not fine with 7M players showing no heart and being invisible.

Gilroy was our worst defensemen tonight. The guy is awful I dont understand why some people want to resign him. Torts should play Eminger instead. Christensen is another guy I'll be glad when he is gone.

Boyle has been bad since the allstar break. I'm not even talking about scoring goals. His physical play has really dropped off. Anisimov had a bad game. He missed a wide open net again and Kane stole the puck from him and it leads to a goal.

I think that, at least for myself, that the frustration is more caused by the fact that if this was the case, if this was how they were gonna be playing during the most important time of the year, then I would have rather them NOT overachieved and been in a better position to draft some high end talent for the future, a place where the rangers currently are not. The frustration is they are gonna be out of the playoffs with no reward for being bad.

Really, the entire team is in a funk. Boyle, sure. It would be easy to point at so many players. They are capable of so much more than they have been showing. We all know it. That's where the frustration comes in.

They probably will get their stuff together, and hopefully it will be in time. Right now, they all look constipated
