Lol Wut?

per @Agrossrecord

Quote:
New Rangers lines: Dubinsky-Prospal-Gaborik,
Avery-Anisimov-Stepan
Zuccarello-Christensen-Prust
Wolski-Boyle-Callahan
Terrible.

Looks like Zucc is odd man out to me when Fedotenko returns even though that's a ways away.

Thankful that Christensen isn't with Gabby anymore but I'd like to see Avery get a shot with him again with Prospal at center.

I actually think that Wolski-Boyle-Callahan line has potential. Interested to see them together.

Stepan on the RW....genius. I like the 1st line and hate the others.

I'd rather have Stepan at center and Anisimov as wing, but I'm curious to see how this works out.

This team was better when everyone was hurt. At least everyone had defined roles.

I don't think they are that bad.

Stepan can't win a faceoff to save his life so having him he play on the wing isn't such a bad idea.

The bottom lines are a little odd, but Boyle-Prust has been a little stale so I don't have a problem splitting them up.

Who cares? They're just going to get changed throughout the game anyway.

Well we haven't won with the great, amazing, deep lines we've had lately so things needed to change,nd i also think Christensen can GTFO before zucca

Chemistry is the main problem for this team. They want score more than two goals until they find one. I think the work ethic is there, the problem is they dont look like a group of guys that understand each others play. May be it's the coach's fault?

Christensen better be gone before MZA. Christensen's only value was the shootout and MZA is much better at it.

I just dont get Torts sometimes. these line combos are ridiculous.

Why not try something like this.

Prospal Boyle Gaborik
Dubinsky Stepan Wolski
Zucca Anisimov Callahan
Avery EC Prust

Every line has some size, passing ability, scoring touch, and a player or two who will fight in the corners and in front of the net for the puck

Agreed, I have a serious hate for EC.

Lines should be...

Avery - Prospal - Gaborik
Dubi - AA - Cally
WW - Step - Zucc
Newbury - Boyle - Prust

Why is Prust on the 3rd line? Seriously. I love the guy, but I'm not a fan of the minutes he gets.

Anyway, those lines look pretty awful. Torts is losing his mind again.

I personally don't give a damn about which lines Torts roles.

Just win, baby.

That's all that matters. If these lines produce 2 points, **** me and my opinion regarding what might work, and what might not.

When you have numerous cases of redundancy and 2/3 of the team filling roles they aren't suited for, the line combinations (especially when you factor in the frequency with which they are changed anyway) don't seem to matter much in the grand scheme of things.

I imagine that "4th" line won't be much of a 4th line at all, considering the team's best player is on it.

If we lose to the pens with any lines considering there going to be EVEN more decimated due to the mass suspensions that will be handed out for last nights game we don't deserve to make the playoffs.

Pens are basically an AHL team right now.

How many forwards on this team have really proven anything this year?

What has Zuccarello really done? Or Anismov for that matter?

I'm not saying we should get rid of them (right now), but everyone talks in absolutes. "No way we should get rid of MZA!" really? No way?

I am not ready to trade off any of these guys just yet, especially for a rental. But we've got to do some due dilligence here and figure out what we've really got.

The position we find ourselves in right now presents a unique opporunity to experiment with these younger players in different situations/conditions/line mates. Maybe this is what Torts is up to? He has been insistent about saying "we are going with youth" Could it be he has convinced management to make a long term commitment here and he is trying to weed out guys that wont fulfill potential?

How else do you find out who can handle the 80 game NHL grind? Not in the AHL.

I'm with you.

At this point in the slump, any combination of personnel that leads to goal scoring and a win is fine by me.

I'm pretty certain that this is the 4th line(Mats Zuccarello, Erik Christensen, Brandon Prust).

I'd still give Avery time with Gabby. Avery's shown a knack to play well with skill players in the past and in their short stint on the same line back in December, they seemed to play well.
