Voracek

Inspired by TSN's Who's In Play: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?id=37673

That much more than Frolik? Voracek's a year younger and slightly more productive.

Florida's rebuilding, CBJ isn't. They should only deal him in a package for a better player.

I'd imagine he could be had for a good young D-Man or center. They certainly won't give him up for cheap though.

Another Voracek thread. People, his value is really quite simple. Howson isnt trading Voracek unless a better player is coming back that fills a need. We arent doing a winger for winger type of deal. Columbus needs a top d man, I can see Voracek for Bogosian but even thats a stretch.

No offense, but Florida fans felt the same way a few days ago.

No offense but Columbus and Florida arent in the same boat. Neither are Voracek and Frolik.

I posted in the leafs thread about what it would take to nab voracek. Would columbus be interested in versteeg and gunnarson? is that fair value to CBJ?

No it isn't. Gunnarson and Versteeg aren't any better than the players we have now.

It'd take a d-man who is significantly better than the ones we have now. From what I have heard, Columbus is looking to add to Voracek in order to acquire a franchise d-man.

Thats what i assumed. Although i would assume the experience and ring of versteeg is still valued by CBJ. Im not exactly sure what it would take from the leafs to nab voracek. what might you think?

What do I think? I think Luke Schenn or Kaberle who's agreed to an extension. We're also not looking to trade NHL'ers for prospects which is in part how we're different from Florida.

You'd be hard-pressed to find two more analogous situations.

Florida's 7 points out of a playoff spot, Columbus is 6. Frolik is 22 and has 117 points in 214 games, Voracek is 21 and has 123 points in 214 games. Both are upcoming RFAs.

One has Dave Tallon as a GM, the other has Scott Howson. As said before, the TSN article is pretty much outdated now. Willingness to move Mason and Voracek has gone down rather significantly in the last 2 weeks.

Different values to different teams was my point. Plus we have a totally different GM. Voracek is a first line winger that is producing right now and improving. Frolik was having a hard time and he was shipped out for it..I guess...It's really quite simple, if we trade Voracek, he wont be the best player in the trade.

Understandable. Luke Schenn is worth more thank voracek imo. Id be more than willing to send you Kaberle, but there that dang NTC lol. I'd be willing to do Versteeg + Armstrong + Gunnarson though. I think we might be getting closer in value, but IMO still not sure if thats worth it for Toronto now as it does dmg our depth alot. Its a tough call.

I really cant see a deal happening with the Leafs that involves Voracek. They just dont have the pieces they want to trade. The rumor about him being on the block is BS. Its basically the same deal as Bogo. They'll listen to offers but theirs no reason they want to get rid of him...except Voracek's seriousness of getting traded is lower than that.

No, if we are trading Voracek neither one of those guys are that desirable to come the other way.

Kaberle is but only if he is to agree to an extension with the CBJ.

Not a chance in hell I trade Voracek for a signed Kaberle, not a chance. Not that he isn't good, he just isn't the right piece to lose Voracek for. Then again I don't know, Voracek and a 2nd for a signed Kaberle and Versteeg might be suitable, but I'd still look to go much younger then Kaberle.

I'm conflicted. Versteeg will give you 50ish points on our second line, but then that means that Huselius would be playing top line again, I just don't know if I'd trade Voracek for that package. I think I'd want a more physical, younger defender, so overall I think I would turn it down and look elsewhere.

Very tempting, but I'd say no based on what Voracek can become, and the injury concerns I have for Hemsky.

I am not excited Voracek`s trade. But if yes, I prefer his trade to Atlanta. So, what do you think for trade --- Voracek, Hejda - Bogosian and draft pick. Kubo is Ondrej Pavelec`s very good friend, they come from Kladno. Hejda is a good defensive defensman, he is UFA after the season. Bogo could improve in CBJ, the change of the club could help him.
