Maybe switching Clifford and Sturm.

I doubt sturm will find his way to 4th line..

I think right now, on this LAkings team... sturm should be our #1 or #2 left winger...He at one time was a top 6 guy, and very well could play at that level again.

Given performance and work ethic this year, I'd have Handzus on the 3rd line and scratch Poni.

Any update on when Parse comes back? that's the one what should make everything interesting for the line up and possibly speed up trade talks.

I like Sturm and hopes he gets there, too. But, I don't think TM likes him as much.

just the general problem of where does he fit in?

You can only have 3 of Poni/Sturm/Richie/Lewis

I still think they're gonna send Lokti back down, I hope not but I doubt DL has the balls to waive someone else.

I'd like to see ...

Smyth - Kopitar - Williams
Sturm - Stoll - Brown
Handzus - Loktionov - Simmonds
Clifford/Ponikarovsky - Lewis - Richardson
Westgarth

I think Loktionov goes back to the AHL though, it's either him or Martinez as the only 2 that can pass w/o waivers.

Drewiske, meh ... if we lose him, and as for Petey Harrold ... call me crazy, but I think they want Mr. Utility Man come playoff time as a plug that can fill almost any hole if an injury occurs.

If they don't end up keeping Lokti in the lineup instead of risking losing someone like Harrold to me that sends a strong message that they aren't trying to win this year.

Bring Strum back, sit westy and you then have 4 good lines you can roll out, with Clifford stepping up as the enforcer when needed.

I could see him waiving Poni. I doubt anyone would claim him. Whether or not he'd put him in the minors is another question, as ownership might not like placing a $3.2 mill asset in Manchester.

You know... I was taking a long look at that saying to myself for like 5 minutes "someone is missing, who did I forget?" and you're right >.< No Simmonds. Man it is hard coming up with lines. The problem is that the lines are impossible anyway, if Loktionov doesn't go down, someone may have to be moved.

Waive Harrold since we all know that Lombardi and Murray love Westgarth.

I can't believe that people are worried about losing Harrold. He's a UFA and there are plenty of defensemen in Manchester if one is needed.

Sending Loktionov back to Manchester would be a huge mistake.

Handzus-Kopitar-Simmonds has been the first line for 2 games, and in both of those games it has produced. Today it was responsible for our only goal. I doubt TM makes any changes to that line.

i think loktionov goes down, much to my dismay. but as was already mentioned, i don't think DL will "risk" harrold/westgarth or anybody else on waivers. i put risk in "s because...well...you get the point.

so, that being said:

sturm-kopi-simmonds
smyth-stoll-williams
clifford-handzus-brown
poni-lewis-richie

is my best case scenario in the event that loki goes back.

We'll be trading for some people and probably sending some others away, so I have no clue how it'll look.

we lost Harrold in the off season for nothing anyway. So i dont see the problem in waiving him and risk losing him. He would only be playing if there are 2 injuries to the Defence, and if that happens, any chance of going anywhere is out of the window anyway

Well, he hasn't done anything to warrant playing time besides be better at hockey than Westgarth.

Handzus-Kopitar-Simmonds
Smyth-Stoll-Williams
Clifford-Loktionov-Brown
Sturm-Richardson-Ponikarovsky (Poni can suck on either wing.. He's very dynamic.)

Healthy: Lewis, Westgarth

I too, am in the camp that Lokti goes down, though I think its going to suck. He's been playing with a lot of fire, and there's no reason to send him down right now... he deserves to stay.

Sturm will probably be on the first line /w Kopitar. I hope he can find some chemistry, and Simmonds needs to stay on that top line for now at least.

No way we waive Poni. He's been superb on the PK, and I like his forechecking a lot. He isnt putting up tons of points, but he's playing well for us.

I'm against waiving Harrold, he's Mr. Utility Boy and we can use him as the #7D/#13F.

More likely, we'll see Drewiske waived or traded for something like a 4th round pick to someone.

Martinez stays.

The crappiest part about getting Sturm back is that we might be waiving someone to make room for a potential dead-weight that could be on IR in a week or two's time. I wanted Sturm but I honestly never thought about it like that. We could really do with packaging some of these players together.
