As you can see, Dallas has struggled in the past 10 games or so. It's not a sure-thing they can make the playoffs at this point so they better start playing better hockey. The divisional games will really have a massive impact on the playoff picture.
Funny how LA has the best goal differencial with +24 yet sits in last...
Pacific is pretty crazy right now though. It'll probably come down to the last 5-7 games when they all play each other. I know the Ducks last 5 games of the season are LA x 2, San Jose x 2 and Dallas x 1.
With how often these teams play each other in the last few weeks of the season, I don't see all 5, probably not even 4 making it. Someone's gotta lose those matchups and unless the rest of the conference lays down and dies in the stretch, the Pacific as well as the conference will get fleshed out pretty evenly I suspect.
IMO, that's the way NHL schedules should be....against divisional opponents. Makes for great end of the season drama.
Agreed. I was looking at the Kings last several games--Last 2 are vs. the Ducks, previous three are Yotes, Sharks, and Stars. They play the Yotes twice, Stars three times, Ducks three times, and Sharks twice down the stretch. Very nice setup for drama!
