Congrats on the win, guys! And welcome to the relatively low percentage of fan-bases who understand that guys like Mike Fisher show up in ways not covered by stat-sheets. He's a warrior and a humanitarian, and he'll be missed in Ottawa. I can't think of a better place for him to land!

Who? Who did we pass on that was available to us since we started drafting in the middle to lower end of the round? This would be 2004 and on.

I can name the following person: Paul Stastny. He has an average of 20 goals. He went 44th so I'm guessing that was a surprise to everyone. Sort of like Patric Hornqvist at 230 that same year.

Wolski, Zajac, Cogliano, Neal, Perron...all of them have an average of less than 15 goals per year since their draft year. So if you're talking about picking up a Crosby or a Toews or a Kane, that was NOT available unless we tanked.

Nashville is a great team no doubt about it because the team plays a great game. They put a lot of pressure on Avalanche early on and that helped.

But I couldn't help notice they had no real go to guy for offense.
I think that's funny to bring up on a night when we scored 5 goals.

Reminded me a lot of Smithson v2.0 as he dominated the faceoff dot all night long and finished his checks in on the forecheck too!

Great move by Legwand to scoop up the puck after he scored on the empty net for Fisher's first point as Predator. Play really got started with Fisher winning a battle along the boards and getting the puck over to Erat who sprung Legwand down the other way!

Fisher is gonna be a good add. He compliments many of our existing players and I believe will actually elevate their games as much as they elevate his going down the stretch.

Welcome to Nashville Mike!!!

P.S. Thanks cleangene! It was nice meeting you too last night. Knew it had to be you as soon as I saw the jersey.
Cleangenes a cool cat. I met him a couple of years ago while I was walking out of a game. I was like, "There is Clean Gene". We've been friends ever since.

Well, looks like Nashville might have a sister city in Ottawa. Let's just hope they can keep up with us drinking wise.

any chance it was the same puck franson had used to score the GWG? thats the only think i can think of...

I know I'm saving my ticket stub...

Forsberg is one of my all-time favorite players. It was a privilege to see him wear the jersey of my favorite team a couple years ago and I'm sure I'll cherish one day getting to see his final game too.

IMO, Peter Forsberg is a first ballot HHOF'er and simply one of the best players in the game during my era.
