Versteeg will wear Cote's old number, 32, according to Saravelli. 3+2=Five. So many V's on valentines day

Fantastic, Homer. Just ****ing fantastic.
Yeah, who needs established players to try and win a Cup this season when we can always grow talent from draft picks and try in 4-5 years down the line....
Please don't trade Zherdev. I'm just thinking that come playoff time, tie game in the 3rd period of a game 7, I'd much rather have Z out there than Carcillo or Nodl.

For a 1st and 3rd we could've gotten someone better. I don't know who, but I am not sold on Versteeg.
No ****. I love all the i cant believe we traded a 1st rounder crowd. Your getting a proven 24 year old winger. Despite the flyers success with 1st rd, i take this deal. Good for Shooter. Now pray the goal tending doesnt go belly up in the playoffs.
I am sure someone else needs to go. Surprised eh didnt get burke ot take zherdev. Do they have something else brewing?
It's ****ing ridiculous. I've been waiting 30 years for Stanley and that pick won't see the roster for at least 2 years. I'm sure the whine bags will all watch and cheer during the Stanley Cup finals though. This was a good move by Holmgren, Versteeg will fit this team like a glove. Draft day will suck much less if we're the Stanley Cup champs.

Well you go please figure that out. Because before this trade a first round pick gets you Mike Fisher. Is he worth a 1st? And remember, currently it is a sellers market and who knows if that changes by deadline day.
But please, give us your list, we are dying to know who you think is worth a 1st.
"Right away I was extremely excited to join this team," Versteeg said. "They've had a lot of success this season. They had a great playoff push last year and I'm excited to try and have a good one this year. I like to make plays and score goals at the same time, maybe go out there and be an agitator at times too. I'm going to try and do it all and have fun doing it."
Versteeg, who was acquired by Toronto from the Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks via trade this past offseason, had 14 goals and 21 assists in 53 games so far this season.
In 223 games over parts of four seasons, Versteeg has 58 goals and 78 assists.
"Kris is an exciting young forward," Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said. "He's 24 years old and he'll fit in with our group of players here. He's a quality forward that can play in a lot of different roles for our hockey team. He can move up and down our lineup. He can kill penalties. He can play on the power play. We think he's a guy that over the last few years, particularly in Chicago, has really blossomed into a good forward and we think he's going to be a really good addition to our team."

But.... BUT if we don't have any draft picks, how will we ice a team in 3 years???????
Zherdev is a UFA and the Flyers now have 24 players on the roster, so someone is going. I just hope it's a trade and not waivers. There's no way someone looking for a scorer hasn't called about Zherdev.
As a Leafs fan, I like your team, but I sincerely hope you lose every game from here on out so that the pick will actually mean something to us!
More or less, we got a 2nd and a 4th for Versteeg, as it stands right now...which looks good from your perspective. Versteeg is NOT a game changer, but will be valuable to you guys on your upcoming cup run. Good luck.
