Leafs Still Looking to Deal

TSNBobMcKenzie Bob McKenzie
I am hearing Leafs will keep the 1st rounder but are trying to move the 3rd rounder for a tangible asset who can play now.

So, who do you think they would want and or target?

Late 3rds tend to bring back huge returns! - Maybe packaged with another player it has some value, Kaberle and a 3rd for ??? - something like that

So it's gonna have to be an overpaid, fairly old center i'm guessing.

What would we be able to get for a late 3rd?

This doesn't make much sense...

A tangible asset? What a joke!

Burke is such a bad GM. He's said he wants to win now, blah blah and now trades a young proven player for a late 1st and a late 3rd.

While your at it Burkie, why don't you rid yourself of Kessel. I'm sure an LA might be interested.

I honestly feel bad for you Leaf fans.

We have too many depth forwards and could do with trading one. Dunno what they think they're going to get with a 3rd though.

Rather have him come to his senses than continue to trade futures.

Basically a 2nd and 3rd for Versteeg isn't overpayment. The Beauch deal is overpayment, but that's a team that feels a there a solid Dman away from getting into the playoffs this year.

Is Atlanta still trying to move Bergfors??? Not saying the 3rd is enough, packaged with something maybe.

Or maybe Burke knows of a potential soft trade he could make, take on salary.

im thinking it may be the latter he moved versteeg for a good deal freeing up cap space for a deal where he brings on salary to get a good prospect?

Three 3rd rounders could get Versteeg back!

Something that I've learned in the past week -- trying to use logic to predict what Brian Burke is going to do is 100% useless, because there is no logic in anything he's done so far.

I am curious. Do you like the Steeg deal or no?
