Basically a 2nd and 3rd for Versteeg isn't overpayment. The Beauch deal is overpayment, but that's a team that feels a there a solid Dman away from getting into the playoffs this year.

im thinking it may be the latter he moved versteeg for a good deal freeing up cap space for a deal where he brings on salary to get a good prospect?

Something that I've learned in the past week -- trying to use logic to predict what Brian Burke is going to do is 100% useless, because there is no logic in anything he's done so far.
