Philly is going for it all this year. Scary.

Bad trade for Toronto.

Not that the value is off because I think a 1st+3rd is fine value for Versteeg.

But Burke has no direction. This proves it. Last year he was all about bringing in players to get his team to compete. Kessel. Giguere. Phaneuf. Versteeg. All guys that could turn them around.

Now he makes a trade for a pick? Make up your mind, Burke. Are you rebuilding for the future? Or are you looking for the quick fix like you were last year?

Leafs fans should be pissed. Burke needs to commit to one direction or the other. With the loss of Versteeg they're back to being in a half rebuild half re-tool.

I must say though, Philly is going to be rather screwed in a few years. They have nothing in terms of prospects.

The fact that 1st rounders are being bandied about so easily this deadline (Fisher and Versteeg) is really telling about the perceived quality of this draft, imo.

I agree. That being said, we keep our 1st (and both 2nds, please).

At this point, if I am Sather, I stand pat just for the simple fact that the prices for good players are ridiculous and Philly looks stacked. The Pens will be adding quite a bit as well IMO and Boston will be looking to seriously upgrade.

I look to sell if I'm Sather.

Not much to sell except for spare parts.

Package Christensen, Boogaard, Gilroy, and Drury together for a 5th.

I'd be happy.

Perfect. Move Christensen, Gilroy and Eminger. See if anyone is willing to overpay for Prospal or Fedotenko.

Prospal is one of our best chances for a late season run and playoffs. He is fresh, enthusiastic, and experienced.

Not too keen on dealing him or Feds.

Leafs might not be done.

@TSNBobMcKenzie
Bob McKenzie
I am hearing Leafs will keep the 1st rounder but are trying to move the 3rd rounder for a tangible asset who can play now.

Give em Christensen. I'd love to get a pick for him now instead of having to bury him during next fall.

Throw Christensen and a mid-prospect at Toronto and see what we can get.

Lots of interest in MacArthur, but Toronto is in no rush to move in. Leafs need players

In my opinion, MacArthur is undergoing the same effect as Dominic Moore did a few years ago. He is playing very well on a bad team and someone will overpay for him.

Yeah getting a draft pick for Christensen would be a smart move. He doesn't fit on this team anymore. You can easily call up someone from Hartford to replace him on the 4th line until Feds comes back. Get something for him while you can.

Keith Jones sticking up for Talbot saying he is an honorable player and will fight and stand up for teammates. Did Jones watch the game where Talbot went after Comeau? Talbot wouldn't fight after that incident, what are you talking about Jones?

Doesn't seem like the Versteeg trade by Philly was necessary. They are already one of the best offensive teams in the league.

That's pretty funny considering how Avery mocked Talbot last season because he had no clue how to fight. He looked like a cat pawing at a ball of yarn or something.
