Canucks don't need to move Raymond now.

Plus, everyone will be back for the playoffs and we need more help for the top 6 instead of 12 NHL defencemen.

I think it's fair. Though if the reports about the Bruins possibly trading Toronto's first for Bogosian are true, I think Atlanta would think long and hard as to how valuable a top 5-7 pick in this draft is, and they'd probably lean more towards that offer than your Canucks offer.

I like Bogosian, but at this point the Canucks should be looking to add a big body to their top 9 up front IMO. Besides, I doubt Atlanta would be interested in that offer.

It's actually not close as the only way Bogosian is traded is if someone "knocks Dudley's socks off". Atlanta isn't looking to trade Bogosian, but that doesn't mean you can't make an offer.

The 1st isn't going to hold much value as it will likely be a very late pick and Atlanta will need a D-man coming back to replace Bogo's roster spot. Atlanta's most pressing need right now is a top 6 forward.

I say 'nucks get the better end of this. Problem is the trade makes no sense given how we'll be removing a top 6 forward for a depth dman. Assuming everyone is healthy this year, Bogosian would at best become the 7th dman. Now of course there's no guarantee everyone will be healthy for the playoff but given the team is at a win now state and Bogosian (this season) is really not a huge upgrade over Rome/Alberts/Tanev/lower price depth dman via trade, it makes no sense for a win now team to get him while losing a top 6/9 forward. Unless Shirokov/another prospects really steps up or we trade Raymond to upgrade the top 6 (probably not a good idea due to chemistry/system problems), Raymond likely won't be traded until the offseason/draft/end of his contract (when he's still a RFA).

Sure, why not. We will just keep feeding the Vancouver Defenceman curse with young, upcoming prospects.

Add Hodgson to deal and Atlanta will consider it

Fair enough but don't bother asking for Bogosian if you're not willing to deal Hodgson

Sopel seems like a better fit. He is FA at the end of the season. He has played in Vancouver, before. Gillis loves reclaimation projects.

Why is it that Hodgson is the most maligned prospect in the league, but any time I read a proposal in this forum that involves the Canucks the response is "Give us Hodgson or we walk"?

Haha I know. Anytime we want anyone of value, it's Hodgson or bust. Must be tough for Gillis to negotiate trades, maybe that's why he hasn't done anything yet

One guy I surprisingly haven't seen in ANY trade proposals is Anton Rodin. I could see this guy fitting a Zetterberg-like mold sometime in the future. But shhhh... We don't want to trade him either.. Heh..
