I don't think Marty ever won a Conn Smythe. If Lundqvist could do that during the course of his career, he'll at least go down as one of the top Swede's to ever play the game (certainly the best goal tender to ever hail from Sweden as well as other Euro countries ) for sure. Even with the accomplishment he would still have to add some more trophies and rack up many, many, many more Shutout's and "w's" to pull ahead of Lidstrom as the greatest Swede to ever play in the NHL.

You forgot about the Dominator...

It will be real hard to compare Marty and Hank, Hank has the advantage of playing his whole career in the shootout error which racks you up extra wins...

But lets all be honest here, Marty Brodeur at his best is better than Hank at his best.

Marty got a lot of help from the trap in the 90's and early 2000's IMHO if hank played for the Devils during this time period and as much as Marty played he would have just about the same amount of wins Marty gets all the credit for his teams incredible defensive prowess

I'm not so sure I agree. I think when "Hank" is truly at his best, he's just as difficult to score on. I just wish Lundqvist was at his best more consistently. And I'm not saying consistency is his problem. But to be ranked in the same echelon as Brodeur, Roy, Hasek...etc, he needs to be great in many more games than he has been. But even then, it's too difficult to record and compare statistically. I've watched some games where I thought Lundqvist was phenomenal, but the team couldn't score a single goal and they lost. Some games he seemed off to me or his performance appeared "average too good," yet the Rangers scored a bunch of goals and he wins or even gets a shutout.

Are people here really comparing Brodeur to Lundqvist? Brodeur >> Lundqvist. /argument. Even though the trap system and the Devils great teams really helps out Brodeur, but you will never know. Brodeur is the best goalie in NHL history.

Comparing Brodeur and Hank? Get outta town!

I love Hanky Panky but Fatso >>>>>> Lundqvist, any way you slice it. Near the top in nearly every single possible statistical category for goaltenders.

Yea, I meant to say he "would go down as ONE of the best Euro goalies ever." You're right and when it comes to Hasek or maybe even Tretiak, I'm not sure any goaltender was, or is clearly better than either of the two.

I agree, but it's become heretical to even suggest Marty was helped out A LOT by the team in front of him.

Only on this forum it is because Devils fans start whining if you say that. Heck, look at this year. Devils suck, start trapping again and suddenly they're the hottest team in the East.

Derek Stepan - Over or Under 20 Goals?

D Step has been nothing short of miraculous for a rookie. He's currently at 15 goals with a good chunk of the season left, so will he be over or under 20 goals? Or even have exactly 20 goals?

He will score at least 20. It depends on playing time, but he will probably end up with 20 goals, 25 assists, which for a rookie, playing with Gaborik who has honestly been terrible, is not bad. If Gaborik was himself this year, Stepan would probably have gone for at least 50 points.

That is the 10 goal mark for Brandon Prust, his 4th shorty of the year.

Wojtek Wolski hits 20 assists.

Stepan with goal number 18 closes in on 20, and passes Gaborik in the "race" for the team lead.

Anisimov hits 15 goals.

It's crazy that Steps has more goals than Gaborik. Did anyone think that would happen before the year started?
