They didn't sit on the 2 goal lead. Sabres just applied a greater forecheck. I knew they were going to tie it. I watched a few of their games and they play very well when trailing after 2.
We better pray for some of the regular Ds to come back from injury because otherwise, this team's gonna get destroyed on the upcoming trip.
Sabres woke up after 30 minutes and realized they were playing against an AHL D squad. So they started to forecheck more aggressively and took over the game from that point on.
Habs didn't help their cause with, yet again, a display of lack of killer instinct.
When AK is struggling.. he's a complete non-factor.
Im pretty sure he held his stick as hard as he could on the shootout and just want to put the puck on the net.. because when AK is off, he can even lose it on a shootout.

Price failed on sealing the win in the shootout but he also helped drag the shootout on another 4 rounds and got it to the shootout with that huge save in OT.
Alexandre Picard had to play 22 minutes tonight and we managed to get a point, sucks that we blew the 2-0 lead but with the amount of guys were missing its still great to get a point. Hopefully we can get Spacek, Gill and Cammy back soon.
On the positive side, most of the young guys played very well: Pax, DD, Pouliot, PK. Nash is not bad neither.
AK was very visible, in negative ways.....losing the puck, turnover.
Losing points on home ice to the Islanders and Sabres really sucks.. This team just fell asleep after going up 2-0.. No intensity.. No forecheck.. They just let the Sabres come at them and they ran around in their own end for the most part in the 2nd half of the game and OT..
Meh, I'm not disappointed. We have four of our core 6 dmen out on injuries. I expected this to be a tough game. We started great, unfortunately, Sabres put the sleeper on us (how many times have they done this to us? too many...). Tonight, getting that 1 point, was good. But the best, was seeing our young players play. I'd say tonight, we got to see them in action more than any other game this season. Patches, DD, PK, Pouliot were all great. Weber and Nash were ok. Though Nash, for a first time NHL game, I think he did well. We have a good future coming ahead. I seriously hope none of these kids are dealt in a trade. All in all, 1 point, got to see some of the teams future on ice playing really well. Not a bad night.
Definitely a point given away there. Price did not make the big saves up 2-0 in the shootout and missing Gill and Spacek showed up in the defensive zone. Habs let up on the accelerator up 2-0 and coasted the rest of the way making an AHL goalie look good.
I hope you're kidding. The 14th best goaltender has been a factor but it's been Martin that has put this team on the same page and kept it rolling with a decimated lineup. It's not even worth discussing it's so obvious.
So Honestly now guys... this guy is our best player (on top of Plecks and Price) and will eventually become our Captain ( i hope). 29:22 mins its been a long time some body did it with the canadiens in his Rookie year.
Woot. We have a big Diamond here, already polished already shaped, just needs to take off some dust out of it... nothing serious
Pretty bad when the two vets are being out played by 3 rookie Dmen (one in his first ever NHL game) and a 7th Dman in Picard.
Could see the game slipping away.
AK is really slipping away, gotta get rid of the guy for something of value...even a headache for a headache, time to move on.
He's done. He wasn't even skating the first two periods and when he did, he did nothing. He seems disinterested these days, and so is the fanbase. Get him out of here.
