True I guess...but I figure putting Enroth in for another would be a confidence booster against the Leafs while giving Miller some extra rest.

Oh well.

I like the 3rd especially, every players did the little things we need to win, winning faceoff at key time, Poms win the faceoff, Gerbe with the continuation and Hecht with the perfect pass, Connolly sacrifice his broken body to block shot on the 4 on 3 and the great shootout, we never give up 2-0 in the game and 2-0 in the SO.

A win vs TO tomorrow and hoping for some help and 8th seed is up for grab !!!

It was a game against the Habs. In Montreal. Were you honestly surprised?

To tell the truth, the one-sided officiating in the Bell Centre doesn't even bother me that much anymore. It's become a cliche. I just take it for granted every time we have a game up there.

I missed the 1st pd. But...

I'll echo everything Chain said in the OP. Especially the reffing.

And, as Macksayev noted, #1 strengthened as the shootout went on.

I can't remember the last time I saw BUF play as good a 3rd as they did tonight. Cycling, forecheck, PK'ing, counterpunching, doing everything to try to win despite the 8 men on the ice against them.

More awesome - EVERY time BUF needed a shootout goal to prolong the exhange, they got it!!

I think Byron would have scored on the shootout if the puck wasn't on edge, and ended it earlier.

Don't have sound on the Vs. interview between creepy bald close talker and Jhonas - if there's anything non-cliche, please post.

Lastly, until his SO winner, I was very seriously ready for the Sabres to leave Hecht to walk home from MTL. Nice redemption.

The aweseome: $6.00 pitchers.

I know what you're saying. But I think the fact that the game is tomorrow makes Miller the better option.

We HAVE to beat the Leafs tomorrow. It's the beginning of 6 games in a row at home. If the Devils win against the Hurricanes in regulation tomorrow and we beat the Leafs, we'll be in 8th with a game in hand.

Tomorrow's a must-win and we've got to hope the Devils can pull through. They're at home and on a 4-game winning streak so let's hope they stay hot.

If we're going to hope to make the playoffs, we have to start winning at home now.

Vanek's shootout goal was about as calm and 'don't worry I got this' as you can get

I loved it.

Whoever starts I'm excited for tomorrow's game now! The Leafs are coming off their own big win so tomorrow should be interesting.

Carolina also plays New Jersey so I will be flipping back and forth between the games on Center Ice.

I noticed that too! He wasn't his usual charming, smiley, PattyLala self. It made me sad

Ennis, Gerbe, Vanek, everyone was beating him blocker side after drawing Price a quarter stride off the post. And Ennis - wow, I thought Roy had a good release...

Am I the only one who sees him in a leadership role next year? IIRC there was a nice view earlier the year of him leading an on-ice discussion prior to a goal, leading by example, all that jazz.

I'm not one to complain about officiating but that was bad and typical in Montreal. I think the loud, large crowd intimidates refs or something.

If Vanek doesn't have an A next year, I'll be very surprised.

Vanek's definitely matured lately. I used to think that putting a letter on him would put to much pressure on him, but when was the last time we saw the patented headshaking and dullness coming off the ice from him?

I don't think he needs a letter to be a leader, but I'm less opposed to it now than I was a year ago.

Maybe it's the German thing, but I've always thought he looks a little like a thinner Dolph Lundgren.

It seemed worse than normal... though there was no phantom 5-on-3 for a change.

In his defense, he did have a nice assist on Pominville's goal and didn't actually commit the penalty he was called for in the 3rd.

G- the way the Sabres didn't quit after the 1st period. Gerbe seemed to be buzzing tonight!

B- the 1st period, Morrisonn didn't look too good tonight.

U- the shootout, god I hate shootouts.

for some reason (I may be in the minority) Pierre Mcguire rubs me the wrong way. Is it his "I know hockey, by the way" tone? Is it his "I am friends with every NHLer" act? I don't know. Maybe it is the way Versus uses him.
