the bad

the ugly
- how many points did Lindy's inability to handle goalies cost us?

Good:
- How awesome could it be to have Enroth as the full-time backup next year?

Well, considering we've been on a tear lately, I'd put it at a max of about one. Since January 1st, anyway.

McGuire's a freak. That's all that needs to be said. Go find "Pierre McGuire & Rob Ray" on YouTube & tell me you're not freaked out.

I wish I could've seen this game. Great to see us pull out a win against all odds though. Hopefully we can do what we usually do to Toronto tomorrow night too .

Ray looked like he wanted to punch McGuire. Awesome!

The one problem I have with Pierre is I don't need to know where every player played peewee/midget/junior/college hockey. But one thing is for sure--he's forgotten more about the sport than any of us will probably ever know. And I can at least respect him for that, even if his style is a bit abrasive.

That tripping call in the third was the most ridiculous display of officiating I have ever seen. That should warrant his canning for the rest of the season. Absolutely PATHETIC.

Getting two points in a game in hand with the playoff competition sitting.

Staff-juice. Does a body good.

The physical play and cycling after the 1st period.

Mini-me x3.

Now I have Southland on my DVR to watch. AWESOME.

Bad:

Sekera getting burned on that second goal.

That entire first period.

Butler. He looks really indecisive out there.

Ugly:

Bad, bad, bad reffing.
I liked Butler tonight.

Also, if you hated Sekera on the 2nd goal, what'd you think of the first goal? He got caught WAY too high on the kill and let Patchy-whatever just walk in.

And that's all that matters.

And good on Vanek, Ennis, and Gerbe repaying him in the shootout after some weak goals. And of course Hecht winning it, although part of me wanted to see if it would go long enough for Nieds/Grier to shoot only for the pure hilarity.

Big 2 points, that's 1 game in hand cashed in. Now they gotta get the next 2 tomorrow.
Enroth definitely has a much different style than Miller. That glove save on the chance right after MTL hit the post on those shorthanded chances in the 3rd was fantastic.

The Oscar goes to Anne Hecht for scoring the shootout winner. Two bad penalties (one bad call) but a nice set up for tying goal by Pominville though Jason seemed to question whether it was an intentional pass in post-game interview.

I don't think you're in the minority, Pierre is just kind of an obnoxious creep.

At very least, Rob Ray agrees...

Pierre is so great, not only does he really know his stuff (and he REALLY knows his stuff, like most of his act, its creepy how much he knows about the juniors and up and coming players). I find his creepiness hilarious, he says something odd pretty much everygame (Last game the one he got me was about Paul Byron ("Do you see this kids face?") can't remember exactly word for word, but it was something like that) I can understand the Pierre hate, but the things people hate I enjoy about him.

I may run a statistical analysis on the habs penalty calls home and away...taking the last few years should be enough of a sample size...I wonder if this has been done?

As LDS mentioned, pretty much everybody agrees with you here but his knowledge of the players is incredible. His style is certainly abrasive and he is very creepy in the way he tries to be best buddies with every NHLer but his knowledge is pretty impressive.
