Parent would be nice about now. Damn re-entry waivers...
There should be some emergency call-up clause in the CBA so that you can bypass them if you have more than X players injured at one position or something. It's just dumb that we can't recall him...
Our Defense should be wearing those clear skate protectors that alot of players are wearing now. Foot injuries are very common for Defense and any proactive move is a good one.
Good-bye Presidents Trophy, and Conference lead. A bunch of our best puck-movers out also hurts transition and offensive game, so good-bye Art Ross as well most likely. ****ing unbelievable.

To be fair, two of our D-men with the best first pass are left standing. Also, Tanev and Sweatt have made somewhat seamless transitions when it comes to getting the puck out of our zone, which can be attributed to Noel's use of similar systems. Oberg shouldn't be clueless in that aspect of the game ...
It's our defensive game down low (especially in front of the net) that is completely up in the air right now.
The Vancouver Canucks got more bad news for their blueline on Thursday with defenceman Kevin Bieksa expected to miss three weeks with a fractured foot.

It is abit funny only because the Canucks are so far ahead otherwise it would be a tragedy. In about 4 weeks hopefully Ballard, Hamhuis, and Bieksa are all back. Atleast our forwards are healthy and we still have a great first pp unit. Will be difficult but 500 hockey is possible, which will keep Vancouver in the chase. Our goalies have been playing great if that continues might not be too bad. The Canucks have lost some puck moving ability but Salo, Tanev, and of course Ehrhoff move the puck well.

There is and Emergency Recall provision in the CBA, but I'm not 100% clear on the ins and outs of it. Seemingly, you just have to fall below 12 forwards, 6 defensemen, or 2 goalies and you can call up a player without subjecting him to waivers. Bieksa's injury gives the Canucks only 5 healthy defensemen on the roster, so you'd think they could recall Parent on an emergency basis; however, if that was the case, I can't see them calling up Oberg first.
Again though, I'm not totally clear on the rules. I'm not sure if you're obligated to first call up non waiver eligible players before invoking an emergency recall, or what. Hopefully someone with a better handle on the Emergency Recall rules will chime in.

I used to think Emergency Recall worked like you described it, but I found out that it only applies to juniour players. So, it would work if we wanted Sawyer Hannay, but otherwise we're SOL.

Ha, it would look something like this. Sweet helmet Mike!
Is Taylor Ellington so far down our depth chart that he isn't even being considered yet? We're down to our 14th defenseman (assuming that Parent and Baumgartner would be re-called but can't due to other circumstances).

Other than Baumer, Paetsch, and Parent, we have 2 guys left under contract:
