Ellington is not on the Manitoba roster.
He is assigned to Victoria in the ECHL. I'm pretty sure that players cannot be recalled directly from the ECHL.
In any case, the last report on Ellington was that he was out indefinitely with a concussion !! I don't think he has returned yet.
For the record, yes, they can be recalled directly. No different from the AHL.
I wonder what the Moose's D is gonna look like in their next game
They should at least be able to fill out their roster, even if it's with ECHL guys (they just signed one Salmon King to a PTO today). The Salmon Kings, on the other hand, could be stuck with a short bench; it's a little harder for them to get players on short notice.
Good-bye Presidents Trophy, and Conference lead. A bunch of our best puck-movers out also hurts transition and offensive game, so good-bye Art Ross as well most likely. ****ing unbelievable.
They won't lose those things on the back of 4 or 5 more games...and 4 or 5 more games is all that may be necessary to get Ballard and Hamhuis back into the lineup. Ballard is expected to join practice next week. Hamhuis will join practice next week if he remains symptom free with the light skating/work outs he's doing.
When they get back the canucks will once again have a solid top 4. AV will think it is a solid top 5 when he plays Rome more than Ballard. Things become a problem if Ehrhoff and/or Salo get hurt in the next few games.
Let's hope that doesn't happen. And of course once Ballard and Hamhuis are back, Bieksa's return will be just around the corner.

I can't recall the last time Vancouver's D was this decimated. Bieksa has been very good this year, and this is another big blow to the canucks. Erhoff is a good defense-man, but since Edler's injury, his play has dropped off a tad bit; he's going to be logging big minutes and hopefully he can handle it.
If the canucks can play 550 hockey for the next month here, I'll be happy...
At least Ballard , Hamhuis, Edler, alberts , bieksa and sweat can't get injured right now.

This series of posts made me LMAO.
Anyways, at least it is a fairly minor injury to Bieksa. I mean, we're playing Nashville tonight, so thank god he's out or else he'd have another leg laceration to deal with.
