So if Fisher is somehow worth that is Reasoner now worth a 1st? lol. Unlikely I know, I'm just pointing out how bad this trade is for Nashville.
Good analysis. I don't think it's that crazy to think Reasoner could return a first because there is demand for players like him and the demand is heightened by how competitive it is for a playoff spot in the west. Reasoner shouldn't be a cap problem at all either.

Did anyone watch the Penguins-Islanders game tonight? I understand retaliation, but wow. Pathetic display of goonery by the Islanders.

Nah, I love that kind of hockey. Was a bit over the top, and I prefer it be a bit more like the Boston-Montreal game, but I enjoyed tonight. 3 players left on the Penguin bench, more of them were thrown out than Islanders. (Oh, and I do watch the UFC as much as I can, for those who want to tell me to watch that ) (not you Erick)

I really liked Haley fighting Talbot, and then going to the other end of the ice to fight Johnson.

With that said, the sucker-punch on Talbot in the 2nd period + mocking Tangradi while he was down and injured in the 3rd period was rather classless.

I believe the Isles called up certain guys just for this game.

It was definitely entertaining to watch as a fan, I'll admit.

Yeah, didn't like some of the extra, but I love the fight filled games.

Eh, it's going to be a very late first. Makes me think Vokoun to Philly is not happening now that they don't have a first round pick. Unless they want to trade JVR.

Still, Versteeg isn't worth a first, imo. Wasn't he playing on their 3rd line?

Philly still has a plethora of forwards, and this move could have been made because they're looking to get a goalie with a few of their other forwards. Dunno, just weird.

I know it's eklund, but he says a flyers source mentioned this to be the "First part of a plan"

Do you think that could mean Versteeg could be traded for Vokoun? Maybe Tallon wanted Versteeg BUT Burke (all of a sudden) wants draft picks, that Tallon will not give up. I'd do Versteeg for Vokoun. May need to add components on both sides to even things up.

Wow, Versteeg for a 1st and 3rd. Imagine what teams MIGHT be offering for Weiss or even Booth...not that they'll get moved, but that's one heck of a pretty good return for Versteeg.

Remember that Philly's 1st is very likely to be 25th-30th pick. Definitely a lesser quality 1st pick. And Versteeg is still a good young player, under a reasonable contract through next year (3.083 m) and an RFA after that. I feel like it was a fair trade. Weiss definitely would net more than that return, due to his great contract (don't think Weiss is being moved, he is a good player for good money). Booth would probably get more as well but Booth's high contract might devalue him.

Im thinking something is up too. Im guessing this is part one to a two part move by the Flyers.

Philly's 1st is basically a 2nd; that pick might not even end up being an NHL player, for all we know. Even worse with the 3rd round pick.

Versteeg is a good 2-way player, and a proven player in the playoffs, as well.

The Flyers are friggin loaded.

I don't see any chance of Vokoun-Versteeg, really. This move limits their chances of a Vokoun trade because they barely have any cap space left, unless if they want to trade one of their top offensive players for him, which I doubt.

Burke said that the 3rd has already been offered to another team (maybe us? we have a bunch of average players with 3rd round value...).

Also said he's willing to trade the 1st, if the right deal comes along.

Toronto's 1st could end up being a later pick than ours... Just keep that in mind.

There is virtually no chance Kulikov gets traded. He is going to be a stud. He will be a #1 d-man on this team for a long time.

Why would we trade a top 10 pick in the 2nd year of development (with no setback yet) for a top 10 pick, undeveloped from a potentially weak draft.

(I know Kulikov was 14th overall BUT he was projected top 10 but dropped due to poeple questioning if he would bolt to russia)

Kulikov won't go anywhere unless he is included in a trade to acquire a bona fide offensive star, no draft picks for Kuli (well maybe the 1st overall from edmonton).

Not a chance. He's a top defenseman, you don't trade young guys like him.

Ruutu to the Ducks for a 6th. These trades are confusing this season. Not that Ruutu is overly valuable, but with the other trades, I thought he'd be worth more than that.
