I hope you meant 'we badly need him to play', rather than 'we need him to play badly'... we already have AKost doing that perfectly.

To me it looked like broken nose with all the blood. He may be able to play but with a full face mask.

Did you look at the picture? It's a cut on his cheek.

I don' think he'll be out long, I think the puck hit his stick first, then deflected into his cheek.

At least we know he made the trip to Calgary with the team, so that is very good news.

I don't think he would have flown to Calgary with the team if there was a fracture. It is just a guess from me, I haven't heard anything, but if there was a fracture, they would have sent him home.

If he made the trip to Calgary, IMO, it can only mean he will play either vs Calgary or vs Vancouver.

Tony Marinaro just confirmed that the x-rays came back negative.

Beautiful is he's not injured.

I know everyone here wants a top 6 forward, but getting Brewer would be extremely nice especially when everyone comes back. The man can eat up minutes and do responsibly. It would be like getting a second Hamrlik. I really think we need to solidify our D most of all.

Hamrlik Wisniewksi
Gill Subban
Spacek Brewer

Makes me happy.

Any report about Spacek's injury ?

They talk about lower-body injury and you guys talk about vertigo, but it was due to a virus of some kind... any confirmations ? I'm more afraid that it could be a concussion... remember the Boyle hit ? It could have taken more time for the symptoms to appear...

I only saw the pic after making that post...was going by what I saw on the ice.

I wonder how many stitches that took to close? Lots of blood and some swelling. He has two days to ice it to bring down the swelling and let the pain subside some with pain killers, although that's going to hurt for awhile.

If it's not broken I'm going to guess that he can play Sunday with a face shield and some pain killers.

We need him.

Hamerlik - Subban

Mara - Wizniewski

Picard - Weber

is not a great defence but it's better than what we ended the game with in Edmonton.

If Gill can play Sunday than Picard sits.

Gill - Subban
Hamerlik - Wizniewski
Mara - Weber

is much, much better defensively. Our special teams will be better with Wiz and Gill playing too.

Anybody aware if Markov + Gorges is out for season meaning they won't play until next training camp or chance of playoff comeback?

No chances for either to lace 'em up until next season.

That's not true.

My apologizes, didn't read the IF part. Just saw the last part. Selective reading.

Man, this is ridiculous and depressing. The team was going so well without Gorges and Markov... then one after one, players keep falling. Is it time to pack it up for the season and either sell or keep the status quo? It'd be hard to convince me that being a buyer makes any sense.

I think you roll with what you have for the moment. Hopefully Gill and Spaceman will be back soon. Obviously this does nothing for our PP, but at least it will give a more veteran presence.
