According to Renaud Lavoie, Wiz is out for 4 weeks and Mathieu Carle should be recalled
http://twitter.com/renhockey

Anyway we will need to recall a dman for the rest of the trip because we can't finish the trip with only 6 dmans.

Our squad at Calgary if Gill and Wiz can't play :

Subban-Weber
Hamrlik-Mara
Picard-Nash/Carle

Ish...

Wisniewski pourrait sabsenter un mois si dautres tests confirment une ou plusieurs fractures..
Meaning that one test says he does have a broken jaw.

I think it means on one test, it indicated he has a fracture or multiple fractures. So, if another tests confirms that diagnosis he could be out up to a month

and it would seem I can't read and you already knew that

Nothing there about Wisniewski...

Something doesn't add up...why would they say there are no fractures and now he is out 4 weeks? I can't see him missing that much time with nothing broken?

Isn't Lavoie the clown that said Pacioretty was out 4-5 weeks also?

Right. He loves to jump the gun on these things. All we can rely on so far is the facts: his first test came back negative and that's all anyone knows so far.

Did the habs release anything official? The media is not to be trusted as we have seen throughout this decade.

the cut was clearly on his cheek. I can't imagine that it would cause damage to the jaw (didn't look near the TMJ). Maybe fractured cheek bone.

Seriously, that last year injuries were far more favourable than this. Everything we feared. At least we get to hold a second training camp.

Wiz out 4 weeks

Ok. At what point do we start blaming Taylor Hall for the injury just like Penguins fans have done with Subban?

Hamrlik - PK
Mara - Weber
Picard - Nash
Carle/Henri

That's either a sensatioanl AHL group or a really ugly NHL one. Too bad it's the latter

Somethings got to give. I mean we obviosuly need help up front but our back end has been devastated! PG has his work cut out for him, especially now that the Ruins got Kaberle and Hab kill Peverley. I'd like to see him pull a rabbit out of his @ss rather then poop.

I think that if they find out Wiz is out for 4 weeks, they will make a trade. If so it will be a similar trade to the Mara one, a mid to late rounder for a serviceable D-man. Thats what i would do anyway. You 'd have to throw away way too much of your future to compete with what the Bruins have done thus far. It's just not worth it with Markov and Gorges out for the year.

No offense but what the hell are you talking about? I don't recall seeing any Pens fans on the board who stated that Subban did it on purpose or anything like that. I think the vast majority of fans realize it was a freak accident.

Anyway, any word from TSN (the only sports news source in Canada that can be trusted) on Wiz? I liked him in Anaheim but he became an instant favorite of mine after the Avery incident. Impossible not to like someone who has that little respect for Avery AND is a good player on top of it. Isles were tards to trade him for your 2nd this year (weak draft, later pick) and 5th next. You basically got the guy for free. Was a great move in light of Markov situation.

Besides the Wiz injury, how many do you think are related to a lack of size up front, and our defense getting bombarded every night?

I think injuries are up all over the NHL this year. The game is so fast paced and rough it is no wonder so many injuries are happening. It has been a bad one for us this year. If Pierre is going to go forward with callups then I would say our playoff hopes are in jeopardy.

From The Wiz's facebook fan page:

"Just received this pic from James Wisniewski's wife. She says he is doing fine and is in good spirits. James and Nicole thank you all for your support."
