Gomez + Moen ... When will it end?

How long are we going to be subjected to this ineffective duo?

I know the Cammalleri injury upsets the top 6 lines, but can't something original be tried instead of something that has failed over and over the past 2 seasons.

Like Gomez or not, but if the team's gonna have any success, he needs to contributing. We have seen him go on PPG pace when he starts clicking with linemates; Travis Moen has NEVER been that linemate.

Desharnais, Eller, Pouliot, try something beside stone hands Moen PLEASE. The Habs are 24th offensively in the league right now, something needs to be tried. Price can't hold the opposition to 1-2 goals against EVERY game.

Odd timing, considering that line as a whole was our most effective last night.

Most effective at controlling the puck and doing nothing with it maybe.

He has a valid point. Moen is great but how is Gomer expected to put up points playing with a 4th liner all year?

I don't see the problem to be honest. That whole line (Moen - Gomez - Kostitsyn) is under-performing badly....so why have them messing up the other 3 lines by splitting them up??? Its better to have the 3 of them suck together on the same line than to make the other lines suck because of their lack of scoring touch.

Honestly....these are 3 players I would love to see traded at the deadline.

Moen hasn't been the same grinder since he took a skate to the eyebrow last season. He doesn't check anymore...he isn't putting up points and he's not using his big body to make room for his linemates. Throw a big hit once in a while you big oaf!!!

Gomez is just Gomez. He's fast, he can carry the puck from end to end, but once he gets near the net, he usually creates a turnover. He needs to shoot more and protect the puck better to make better passes to his linemates.

Kostitsyn is playing pretty decent to be honest, but he can't buy a goal right now. His lack of consistancy in every game is getting old. Theres no reason why he can't go out there and play the same way every shift in every game....but sometimes he's completely invisible out there.

(darche and desharnais)
Eller still not ready.

Pouliot should have replaced Cammy, out of the bottom 6 players he's the one with 1st line talent. He just gets called for far too many penalties on clean stick lifts/checks.

You have 10 million $ of offence on that line, on the 24th ranked offence in the league. You can't afford to have it sit around sucked.

Yeah the line played decent last night, saw Gomez make some nice moves in the corner and throw a slick pass out front to Moen in the slot, who promptly fanned on the shot.

The team needs goals, BADLY. Gomez needs players with finish beside him, not the most unclutch guy on the team (2nd only to Tom Pyatt maybe).

Gomez and A.Kost were pretty good last night, just too bad that Travis the ghost Moen brought the line down.. Martin should have react quicker and put Eller there..

Making Moen the scapegoat for Gomez and Kostitsyn is really sad. Should he be on the second line? obviously not. Is he really the reason Gomez and Kostitsyn can't produce? No.

When Cammalleri will come back, Moen will return on the 4th line. But I still don't understand why he is so often on the 2nd line.

It will change when one of two steps up his game and stops playing like a 3rd liner

For physical presence and to go in front of the net. Martin is trying to re-create the Pacioretty-Plekanec-Gionta line with spare parts (Moen, Kostitsyn and Gomez)

I would have enjoyed seeing Palushaj called up.

I'm more worried about the Gomez+AK duo.

Since they are on the same line:

6 games

Gomez: 0 goal, 2 assists. -9
AK: 0 goal, 0 assist. -8

I really hope that when Cammalleri is back, JM puts together the two lines that have gotten the most out of our top 6:

Cammalleri-Plekanec-Kostitsyn
Pacioretty-Gomez-Gionta

We can talk all we want about how Gomez and Kostitsyn are slumping on the scoresheet right now, but they have had the most success when playing with these linemates. Our most successful parts of the season have been when one of these two lines was performing well, so it would be great if they could both be on at the same time.

Plus, it still leaves us with some good options for the bottom 6. I'd like to try:

Pouliot-Desharnais-Eller
Moen-Halpern-White
