Prefer to use the cap space on something other than Drury and thank sweet baby jesus that Burke isn't that inept with cap management to ever attempt such a thing.

Richards>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Drury + 2nd.

The Edmonton Oilers' sixth-round pick will go to the Toronto Maple Leafs as the result of a trade on June 26, 2010 that sent a seventh-round pick in 2010 to Edmonton in exchange for this pick

Who's Ian White rumored to be traded for?

I have a feeling he's coming to the Leafs. For what I do not know.

No thanks to Drury.

Leafs cannot afford to add that kind of salary for anyone that isn't a number one center.

All sorts of rumors, none of them more credible than the others. Personally I think it's either Toronto or Vancouver, depending on whether Burke feels satisfied with his day yet.

Looks like Burke watched Dean Lombardi's rebuild of the Kings. Just stockpile draftpicks until your prospect pool is so full it is overflowing.

OP didn't think this through very well.

Drury has 1 more year left on his contract, $7.05M cap hit and $5M salary for 2011-2012 season.

It's one thing to take on cash/cap now, which the Leafs can definitely do, but it's another to do it and be saddled with something next season.

Not happening.

Rangers can take on an 8 million dollar player at the moment which means they have no reason to trade at the moment.

Only way Burke takes on the Drury contract is if by the end of the summer he has boatloads of cap space because every other deal he worked on didn't happen. Highly unlikely knowing Burkes record with pulling the trigger on big deals.

A 4th for Sjostrom is the best Toronto could hope for after watching Ruutu only get a 6th for Ottawa.

Richards is a rental and wont return a 1st round pick. You'll have to settle for a 2nd and Mikus.

That is just all speculation! Not a single person in the hockey universe other than Richards himself knows what he will do! Even if he is a rental look what the **** Toronto got for Versteeg who is nowhere in the same stratosphere as Richards. So Philly gives Toronto a 1st and a 2nd for Versteeg but is not willing to give up a 1st for Brad ****ing Richards...

If we want to use the bonus cushion, you are correct. But we don't, so our actual available cap space is much less.

You must be joking. Any team that's over 10th overall (and had cap space) would gladly trade their first for Richards for the playoffs. I would.
