Andy Greene/Johan Hedberg

If NJ loses tonight or tomorrow I think they will call it a day and start moving UFA's. Andy Greene and Johan Hedberg may or may not be dealt. Jason Arnott surely will be gone.

What is Andy Greene's value? A UFA making 750K had an awful first half of season but then again so did everyone else in NJ under John MacLean.

What is Hedberg's value??

he's a capable backup. Not many teams in need of one although Anaheim could use him. He's an upgrade over McIlheney.

I offered up the Capitals 2011 3rd and a choice of Dmitri Kugryshev or Francois Bouchard for Andy Greene in another thread.

No thanks, draft is fairly weaker than in recent years and NJ would probably be better off trying to resign him after the year.
Moose's value is going up but the devils would have to be even more out of a playoff spot by the deadline to even consider trading him, he means a lot to the team right now.

Because you can't resign a player you traded?

It's a seller's market right now.

I think we can do better than a third for Greene, if we decide to trade him. His value is not that much less than Ian White's.

a 3rd for greene? i'd do that deal. keep a spot open in the lineup in case a rookie surprises during camp.

Given Brodeur's recent injury history, I don't know why they'd be looking at trading Hedberg, unless it's deadline day and the Devils have lost a few games, making playoff possibilities near impossible.

Leafs 3rd + D Brian Connelly for Greene

3rd is basically late 2nd and Connelly is NHL ready dman who would help Devils PP and transistion game

Even with the acquisition of Ian White, I'd still trade for Greene and the way that Niittymaki has been going with his injuries, I wouldn't mind acquiring Hedberg either. A 2nd, Huskins, and/or Mitchell for the two would be alright by me.

F-that. Give us your first and you can have both of them.

Andy Greene and Johan Hedberg are not worth a 1st round pick. Sorry. Plus the Sharks need to move salary to account for any additions at this point.
